Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Characters and Stages Roster |DT2| oh dear...

I expected them to show off about 4. Actually this is about what I expected with my lower expectations. Spider-Man is the biggest character there. Frank, Nemesis, and Haggar aren't big enough deals to reveal on their own. Thus why capcom was stacked.

It would've been cool to have like a 4 meter special hyper that mixes both characters' hypers like in SFXT or at least certain tag teams

Well, you can freely tag during supers, so you can sorta do that on your own.

Do a super, immediately tag in your partner, then do that character's super. Unlike previous Marvel games, bringing in your partner during a super doesn't stop that super from completing.

So, both of you would be there doing your supers, side by side.

The next set of 4 reveals is going to be godlike thematically.

Ghost Rider, Dormammu, Firebrand and Jedah or Venom. Demons, flaming heads and villains.

So I don't really know anything about MH - is the character likely going to literally be called "Monster Hunter" in game? If that makes sense in context then that's fine, but it looks tacky from the outside (reminds me of people who would've called Smash's Villager goofy names like "Animal Crosser" in speculation).

They only have Gamescom to announce at unless I'm missing another big event? I think they'll show everything before they do a launch trailer.

I don't find announcing more returning characters exciting. I was hoping they'd show maybe venom or monster hunter and at the very least Jedah footage. Need to keep settting my expectations lower.

I am glad we finally got some good Gamora footage though. She looks fun.

I think the avatar is referred to as "Hunter" by NPCs in the Monster Hunter series.

Probably just Hunter, given the .zip leak, but yes.

I wonder if Capcom might save Venom and maybe MH for last in a launch trailer or something. Possible everything gets revealed at Gamescom. I guess they could do 4 there and then 4 at PAX (that's still a thing right?)

By next week or the week after, they can start drip feeding til a week or so before lanuch.

It is pretty wild how many females were in 3 that they just decided not to bring back, literally any one of them (besides I guess the X-Men ladies) would've been justifiable inclusions. No Felicia in particular is sad, she's probably the 2nd most famous Darkstalker and the game is sorely lacking in rushdown characters at the moment. I know some have said she was cut for the sake of esports but I'm not buying that until it's confirmed.

I'd also say it's pretty disappointing in the face of Smash 4. In previous Smash games all we ever had were Peach, Zelda and Samus (and their alter egos I guess). But in SSB4 we got those three + Rosalina, Palutena, Lucina, Bayonetta, Wii Fit Trainer, Robin, Corrin, Villager and Wendy (Bowser Jr.'s alt), and even all three Mii Fighter types can be made female. So it's pretty unfortunate that MVCI's selection is pretty sparse in that regard, especially since UMVC3 had a decent amount of female characters.

I'm pretty sure every fighting game this year managed at least the 1/4 ratio except for MVC. So that's sticks out as well.

Gamora and Dormammu are the only two characters so far that legitimately interest me.

Normally I'd preorder it but after all the stuff Capcpom has been pulling lately, I just can't support this game unless I know they delivered a product worth supporting.

If Capcom would just add Ms. Marvel, Black Widow, Nina and Lady, that would make a big difference.

Capcom has to have some additional females up their sleeve hidden somewhere. They just have to.

Overall I'm not going to bash the roster too hard just because it's clear their idea was to get the product out the door and into our hands quickly and that long-term DLC plans will fill in the gaps and hopefully take us even further than the last game eventually. Obviously waiting and then paying extra for some of my favorites isn't something I'm thrilled about but I think 34 is a pretty reasonable number. Frank, Haggar and Dormammu being back is a real relief.

To anyone whose favorite characters may be missing all I can do is encourage you to hang in there (I'm sure pretty much everybody will be back eventually) and experiment with what they're giving us in the meantime. 6 gems, a handful of newcomers, and a couple dozen reworked veterans in a brand new system is a pretty good amount of content to get familiar with while we wait for more.

Lol didn't realize the sf panel would only be recaps.

Also yo why isn't nemesis's opening words 'staaarrrrrrsssssss....'

That's wack.

This trailer really does get me more hype for the game. It looks like it's going to be really fun to play.

I wouldn't hold my breath.

They're hidden in a vault somewhere. Capcom just hasn't opened it yet.

Same with Asura, Gene, Nero, Batsu, Captain Commando, Jin, Vergil, Wesker, Akuma, Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops, Magneto, Doom, Silver Surfer, Daredevil, Punisher

Believe. It'll all work out in the end.

I got Dante (they butchered him in the process), Black Panther is behind a paywall, and Vergil & Wolverine are out of the picture.

Surprisingly I'm not really bummed on the returnees. Even the lack of weaker is more isn't too big of an issue. Since I knew I'd be in for 2 RE characters so unless they were RE5 Jill I'd be good to go.

I liked smash where I'm bummed about missing veterans. Here I'm just bummed about newcomers since there's so much could have pulled from for both sides. Really hope the remaining DLC for season 2 is impressive. Since this far it's been 2 characters that should've been in the game. (I know that'll be a common thing said about the entire season pass. But sigma is how Ultron Sigma is made and Black Panther helps with diversity). Someone like Winter Solider being DLC is fine even if he's in the story.

If the remaining newcomers can fill in these gaps and rep new series, it'd help a lot. I have a PSN credit I'm waiting to use once they announce who's there.

That's how I feel at this point. It felt a lot worse back in May, but I've simmered down about it since. I just look forward to future characters. Would be nice for the last few reveals to be pleasantly surprising, though. Just to give the game the positive momentum it can surely use right about now.

He only says that against Chris and Jill.

Whoops beaten.

Looking at MODOK in AIMbrella reminds me so much of

xmen-cota-screenshot.gif

And since he's a returning character from 3, its...just...it makes sense for him to return. I don't know

Not even a single of Breath of Fire character or She-Hulk. What a shame.

See? I wouldn't leave BOF behind.

There's nothing new here, but it says that Nemesis was captured and reprogrammed by M.O.D.O.K.

What's funny is MODOK calls Nemesis an experimental failure in MVC3.

Ugggggggh Ryce :[

To be 100% transparent I've been his source since the end of last year and the info I heard about the stones just ended up being incorrect. My info just came from chatting up top players and keeping my ear to the ground at majors. Most of what I get ends up being really accurate, but you can imagine there's always a risk that outdated info (or sometimes flat-out false rumors) is getting passed around instead.

Ryce has been a super valuable member of the community and I'd hate to see him in trouble over one inaccuracy that I told him about. I understand he agreed to taking a risk by posting it but I still think it's only fair that I face the repercussions instead of him, especially when he's been so vocal about suspecting his source had outdated info for the past month or so.

Absolutely ridiculous.

I shared my cents on this matter

I'm looking at this from business perceptive so I think Capcom want to save some popular and heavily requested characters like Wesker, Vergil, Asura, Gene, Dare Devil, The Punisher, Ms. Marvel, etc for future downloadable contents so they could convince the fans to pick up the bundle(s) or pack(s).

For example, She-Hulk and Phoenix Wright, they might able to sell the bundle more than they could sell them separately. So they could put Wesker with obscure marvel character that some people might not give a damn about, so the fans would pick them up together because they are bundled. I know it's a dirty business but it's my prediction that they would do it so they would get people to buy their products.

That's their plan for "Infinite" service to have many new characters being adding to top of the roster over the time.

Also we should set up our own DLC poll soon so we could make our voice loudly. I'm planning to set the rules so people would able to vote for 12 characters, 3 Marvel newcomers, 3 Marvel veterans, 3 Capcom newcomers, and 3 Capcom veterans. Hopefully we would get a lot of people participating.
