Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite Characters and Stages Roster |DT2| oh dear...

So there's someone on 4chan claiming that Gamora & Captain Marvel are Frankensteins of reused assets.

The best you can do in terms of this is pointing out how Captain Marvel "somewhat" (and I use that word as loose as possible) to Phoenix and that's about it.

As for Gamora... What's the comparison here? Is it that she just so happens to shoot bullets like Deadpool? Hell, I could make an easier comparison comparing Gamora to Hayato from MvC2, and even then that would be really stretching it...

For anyone curoius, when Gamora is using her sword, and especially her super attack, it did give me flashbacks to Hayato's moveset and his super attack where he more or less did the same thing. That said though, that is a very small comparison and would be like saying that every sword user in Dynasty Warriors swings their sword the exact same way, even though they don't)

I explained on SRK how they're most definitely not re-using assets for Gamora. Maybe when the game launches I can do a more detailed analysis if I feel up to it.

Does Zero have Zoop Loops?

he actually does have lightning loops but they're slow as shit and do no damage so they're not really worth doing.

they're like SUPER slow and it looks really wrrong when he does them because it's basically the lightning OTGing for pickup over and over

I was #TeamMvC4Women but now I'm #Teamf(x)-men. Works on more levels.

The characters are just functions and you don't even remember those characters thing was like, the worst story that could have gained traction for a game with an already crappy public reception. That's the type of shit gamers will still be irrationally angry about devs saying and rally against years after the devs say it and publishers and studios have undergone significant changes. People are still mad about shit Capcom did in previous generations with different development teams.

"MvC4 Female Characters" is still the best subtitle. It sends a strong message to Capcom. As shitty as it is, the lack of X-Men is out of Capcom's hands, but there's absolutely no excuse for a fighting game launching with 30+ characters in 2017 to have only four women.

Agreed and if anything we know Xmen is coming anyway.

Very true.

Ooh, more Thor. That tornado Hyper does quite a lot of damage, even when used at the end of a combo. I wonder if different Hypers scale more or less depending on how easy they are to land?

That air combo the Capcom rep used with Morrigan is also my kind of combo. That looked like just one of the air normals repeated over and over. Probably not optimal a week in, but your best combo is the one you can perform, not the theoretical best.

X's line against Zero made me laugh, too. "Zero! Who's controlling you this time?!" Zero, buddy... You have a problem. Maybe, you know, don't get mind controlled by the bad guy this time?

It's not like Marvel is completely free of blame in that regard, either.

Actually, someone on here mentioned that there seems to be parity on both sides in newcomers & female reps. Could this be Marvel-mandated or is it a coincidence?

I agree. If marvel is all about diversity why didn't they say anything to capcom? They have to say what's ok with their side of the roster.

That's my only idea outside functions before representation. Since there's a good chunk of females they could've used from 3 on capcoms side alone

Trish
Tron-Bonnie
Felecia
Hsien-Ko
C.Viper

She-Hulk

Only thing that'll change such a parity rule is if we see Monster Hunter as a female or the DLC is off.

I wonder if its possible Morrigan's new move keeps you from using/gaining meter for the infinity stone

It doesn't drain life, and I don't think it drains super meter so maybe that's it?

Abigail's SFV release has inspired me to replay Final Fight, and I could've sworn Haggar had the ability to pick up and throw barrels. It's something I seem to remember from childhood, I remember seeing it suggested as an MvC3 move, and now he has it in MvCI -- but it doesn't appear to be something that's actually possible in Final Fight. Weird.

MvC:I |OT| Genders are just Functions anyway

This should get Capcom's attention haha. This is pretty much Capcom's stance on this given their decisions/responses lol.

Might have been one of the other Final Fight games? I seem to recall that as well.

I thought barrels were just on the street and could be picked up by anyone. Surely that happened in one of those games.

That's what would kinda throw the possibility of Lady in Season 1 into question. If Season 1's Marvel side is Black Panther, Green Goblin, & either Winter Soldier or Ant-Man, then that wouldn't leave the Capcom side with any room for ladies. But if we get Green Goblin in 2018 & someone like Ms. Marvel or Black Widow gets in Season 1, then there'd be room for Lady on the Capcom side if such a parity rule is in place.

Of course, we'll have to see how the Monster Hunter pans out in the base roster (but the Hunter being a male seems to be likely).

So at this point do we believe that Gems are a good replacement for assists? Is team composition feeling like its point/point/assist like mvc2?
I think, with what we've seen, it's a very good alternative to have, but whether it's better than two assists I'm waiting to get some good matches myself before I make that verdict.

Ugh. I still can't believe this is true... For THREE of the 4 to be shown with the initial reveal as well... What the fuck.
