They don't even have enough Capcom characters to fill out the DLC and you think they're gonna make CvC?
They got a ton of capcom characters to use. Why the first character pass is lopsided is anyones guess.

I think they don't really have ideas for new characters. Like they aren't gonna add Dark Void. They got a ton of capcom characters to use. Why the first character pass is lopsided is anyones guess.
Edit: Oh, and DLC characters will help game sales and rentetion. I know people are like "wtf is with all this Marvel in this Season", but that shit is mad recognizable to have in your game with how big the MCU is.
If MvC has to die so I can get CvC. So be it.
No Marvel characters in a Marvel game?
Not interested.
I'd rather have MSH2, get rid of the Capcom characters.

I'm pretty sure the B.O.W.s in story mode use Necalli's and Rashid's attacks.

That won't happen. They need another franchise to boost exposure. A CvC would sell less than a regular SF game.
So what probably would happen would be something like Shonen Jump Vs. Capcom as a Switch exclusive.
Then again the hardcore DBZ fanbase is weird. There is some civil war going on with people who like DBFZ and people who just want another Xenoverse.I think casuals might have had their fill on fighting games. You've had release of IJ2, Tekken 7, SFV is still alive with dlc updates, and it's possible that people disappointed with presentation and roster are looking towards DBFZ in future instead.
The only good or this game got was from gameplay but that's not as wide spread either.
That's probably the shittiest part of MvCI for me. I really don't care about Marvel characters and typically oddball, obscure characters aren't DLC because hardcore fans who'd care about these characters will buy DLC regardless. So what happens is we're just going to see popular Capcom characters, probably a bunch that didn't make it over from MvCI.
I wish Smash's Sakurai was in control of roster choices and trailers for the game. Maybe he could pitch references for the moveset. I love his dedication to capturing the essence of a character and his love of older games. He'd be a great director for this series if, you know, he couldn't touch the gameplay.
I figure the future Capcom DLC will basically be: Wesker, Vergil, Phoenix Wright, Leon Kennedy, Akuma, Felicia, and some other safe picks from their healthy franchises. I wouldn't be surprised if the Clover characters are dead for good.
But, good sir, CvC has been there the whole time...

Street Fighter vs Capcom or so. But I hope they wouldn't give up on the game but if sales forced them to.
Yeah DBZ is weird, a lot of the FGC is on board but the casual DBZ fans don't care much. A lot of them think it's some SF reskin and would rather have Xenoverse.
God damn DBZ fans don't deserve DBZF!
If anyone wants to play some matches on PC (EU) here's my steam id http://steamcommunity.com/id/KI_Heisenberg

And you still won't get Regina.
Prob mad they are getting rocked by real fighting game headsYeah DBZ is weird, a lot of the FGC is on board but the casual DBZ fans don't care much. A lot of them think it's some SF reskin and would rather have Xenoverse.

Dbfz looks better than the anime visually, so I don't know why they wouldn't be on board.Yeah DBZ is weird, a lot of the FGC is on board but the casual DBZ fans don't care much. A lot of them think it's some SF reskin and would rather have Xenoverse.

CDKeys killed the game.
I know a lot of folks were down for a code at $28 and just gave up when CDKeys said they were all EU codes.
People would flip out if Capcom has DLC for sale exactly at launch, even with selling a character pass. It's less bad for optics.
I doubt we're going to see much in the form of fighting games from Capcom if this underperforms after SF5 also underperformed.

I think this is why capcom is all in on making both SFV and MVC:I "service" games.
Since with the right support you can make up for under-performing sales. I do kind of see the next MVC:I and SFV going the Tekken 7 route and reusing a lot of what was made prior to save on budget and such. I'll be surprised if SF6 is made from the ground up again.

For whatever it's worth, I grew up with the Budokai Tenkaichi games and fuck me if this doesn't look like the most hype DB game ever.Older DBZ fans that grew up with fighters on SNES or PS1 seem to be into it
But a lot of the DB fanbase is young and grew up with the budokai tenkaichi games, so they don't see the appeal at all. they want their dbz simulation action games, not a balanced 2d fighter.
I was fine with MvCI reusing assets when I thought that would lead to a larger roster.
SF6 reusing V's animations would also be fine since they're so well done. They would age way better than SF4's approach of being faithful to SF2's animations including how low budget they looked.

People like what they're used to.
It's always funny seeing Dragon Ball videos with comments of people complaining it isn't 3D haha.
This is really what concerns me about MvC:I.
Since it was released, I don't think I've seen a single mention of the game on the PS4 and XOne Reddit communities (r/PS4 and r/XboxOne).
Did it release too soon after Destiny 2?
Did SFV'S botched release turn people away?
Did all the pre-launch negativity concerning simplified controls and Chun-Li's face keep people's wallets firmly in their pockets?
i think most casual dbz fans probably don't know much about it. i bet a bunch will jump on board when they start heavily advertising it. at least i hope it's advertised.Yeah DBZ is weird, a lot of the FGC is on board but the casual DBZ fans don't care much.
