Why not both?Nobody wants a fucking Defenders game, just put Daredevil and Iron Fist in MVC:I. Marvel's game division is run by some asshats.

Look. I don't give a fuck about Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, and from the looks of things neither does the FGC. It barely even looks good. So no, I won't just settle for a Daredevil/Iron Fist "appearance" when I coul get an actual Defenders game.
Marvel's game division is sounding like it knows wtf its talking about, and you sound like the kind of guy who thinks WB should "just make Batman movies, everyone likes those".
A Commandos/Shadow Tactics style could be cool IMO. You already got the tank, the stealth ninja, the fast hitting crowd control guy. JJ could be for smaller groups with less powerful weapons while Cage would be the one you use to distract and tank on heavily armed/armored enemiesI would be totally on board for a Defenders game in the style of Streets of Rage, developed by Wayforward. 2D artwork would be perfect.

Avengers is confirmed, Guardians is rumored.I totally missed that Square got both Guradians of the Galaxy and Avengers. I wonder if they're gonna be the same gameplay/genre wise.
This is gonna be good
I don't think that would fit the tone.
I know this is the style of the time, but an arkham style game with character switching , might actually be dope.

I would love for every bad guy that dies to say, "You're the worst Iron Fist ever!"
Never seen somebody be so wrong. The Defenders was my favorite team-up growing up. Switching between Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist offers so many unique gameplay opportunities and a chance for "lesser known" characters to get their own presence in a game.Nobody wants a fucking Defenders game, just put Daredevil and Iron Fist in MVC:I. Shoving them in MvC:I makes little sense and means that they're confined to the gameplay style of a fighter, something that these characters deserve more than.
You mean the side scroller beat em up, or The arkhamWould fit a lot of characters. Valkyrie, Devil Slayer, Manslaughter, Cadaver, Hellcat, etc
I've always wanted to make a superhero JRPG.
why. just make Daredevil game without the other scrubs.
EXACTLY!!!! So many things can be done particularly with his abilities.
Just make an M rated TPS Punisher game.

I would love for a Daredevil game with his senses being the primary visuals, like in the comics. Loud noises like gunfire could distort what you "see" and shit like that. The whole game plays in detective mode switched on.
And have Rockstar do it.
There are so many better options than a Defenders game.
Let Nintendo make a Marvel game. It's been what over 10 years since nintendo last worked on a licenced game.
How about the Champions, or would they be more up Atlus' alley? The Runaways by Nintendo.
Have Cloak & Dagger and New Warriors appears in-game.
No idea what kind of game it could be though. Some sort of fun, actiony 4v4 multiplayer game? Something to lean into the co-op/mp nature of the device.
Because you would have to focus on multiple characters instead of just one. Won't be able to flesh out characters. Also Luke Cage & Jessica Jones are quite boring in comparison to Daredevil & Iron Fist. A co-op Defenders game just isn't where it is at.Defenders isn't really the most difficult thing to give good combat to, why are you so against it? ><
Edit: Also Rockstar doesn't give a fuck about the Punisher. The size of GTA now means they'll probably stick to their own games forever now.
Exactly this. I mean, they don't even have the rights to Silver Surfer so he's out anyway.
Far as I understand hey still have the rights to all their characters for any non-live action media.
Correct, Marvel just chooses to focus on the MCU-friendly characters for games.Far as I understand hey still have the rights to all their characters for any non-live action media.
How about the Champions, or would they be more up Atlus' alley?
Didn't Platinum want to do Spider-Gwen?
The director of Bayonetta 2 does, yes.Didn't Platinum want to do Spider-Gwen?

That would mean that Marvel has to give a shit about X-Men. And that's not happening anytime soon.Marvel Indies? Hnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngh.
I need a New X-Men/X-Men: Academy Persona-style RPG. And, maybe out of the scope of indies, a X-23 Ninja Gaiden-esque action game.
That would mean that Marvel has to give a shit about X-Men. And that's not happening anytime soon.
It's one thing to add them as DLCs to some other games, but to have an entire game about X-Men? Nah, I don't think Marvel would go that far.
That actually explains Spiderman NY Asylum. The Arkham games were a huge influence on their strategy for how to make console games. While they didn't want to make games that were literally just Arkham Asylum, they felt that the Arkham titles showed that you could design a game directly around what makes a superhero interesting and end up with a great product even if it didn't exactly match what was already out there in the market. They contrast this with "brand slaps" where you just make a game and then shove the IP on it even if it doesn't really fit the characters thematically, which is something they try to avoid now.
What about my X-Men game tho.
This platinum meme will never die. They seriously make the worst licensed games. I don't get why anyone would want them near this. The Defenders as a 4 player co-op Platinum developed game(like TMNT but good )
do it
