first wave never ended. They just can't keep up the lies anymore especially after being called out by most of the world, even their butt buddies in Iran.
Agreed. At this point, they're just tying to hedge their "lying bet" and save face.

And they sure as hell better. The whole world is watching...and to be frank, they're all a little pissed. When the dust settles, I'm thinking the only friends China will have for a while are their fellow "comrade" countries.

Edit: and poor countries too.

Even Iran and Russia are turning on them. There only friend might be Mr. Un in NK.

Even African's are getting sick of CCP. In Nigeria the other day they burnt down a Chinese factory.

My god..this is horible..

Tip of the iceberg. We have the same problem up here in Quebec. This is going to be found all across the country.

Nursing homes were the perfect storm for this virus. When the dust settles you are going to see WAY more of these incidents. Its going to be a world wide tragedy.

2018-2019 stats

16 deaths for the season

6050 cases, 0.26% CFR

2017-2018 stats

24 deaths for the season

8278 cases, 0.28% CFR

Coronavirus:

28 deaths
1501 cases, 1.8% CFR so about 6.5x worse than the 2017-2018 outbreak, BUT a lot less cases diagnosed. However, even if the case #s were actually at 2017 levels, there have still been more deaths already, and we're not yet done. So.. more wait and see.

"If we don't go to war over the loss of 31,000 now, and certainly more to come, 31,000 American lives, what do we go to war over?" Dobbs said during an interview with former deputy national security adviser K.T. McFarland on "Lou Dobbs Tonight."

Dude needs to chill with the war rhetoric. That's dangerous territory and not going to benefit anyone.

Any payback to China needs to be economic. Military conflict will be bad for everyone.

I agree with not wanting war. Whose to say economic warfare doesn't lead to military conflict though? I'm concerned about China lashing out once the impact of economic sanctions kick in. They've been pushing boundaries with their military for years now.

Remind me, what did Iran say?

PS
As for "never ended", South Korea says hi.

Face protection (mask, scarf etc.) is mandatory in Poland since yesterday, so if Police sees you without it you're going to pay. The best part is that health minister said that's going to be like that until vaccine is ready, fuck me... :pie_eyeroll: I'm going to look like my avatar

About vaccines and stuff:

"It seems statistics from China [were] a bitter joke, because many in the world thought this is just like influenza, with fewer deaths," Jahanpur said during a video conference in remarks translated by Radio Farda. "This [impression] were based on reports from China and now it seems China made a bitter joke with the rest of the world."

I dont know how much longer the Muslim world is going to bite its tongue. It was one thing to intern turkish muslims, but if Hajj is off the table then China probably going to have to worry about Jihad for a long time.

Are you saying SK ended the COVID or that SK lied about ending it? Not sure what they are saying hi about. But don't tell me you belive Xinnie the Poop when he said 0 cases and all of China's new cases were just foreingers (probably black ones that like to eat at McDonalds).

They're not exactly out of the woods yet.

SEOUL, South Korea --- The South Korean capital of Seoul has shut down more than 400 hostess bars, night clubs and discos amid concerns over coronavirus transmissions.

The measures announced by Mayor Park Won-soon on Wednesday came a day after two female bar employees were found to have contracted the coronavirus after one of them contacted a pop-star customer who also tested positive, triggering public calls for stronger controls on entertainment venues.

Park says the temporary gathering bans imposed on the 422 venues through April 19 will shut down all such businesses in the city for now as 1,700 others had already closed or suspended operations under the city's anti-virus recommendations.

Park says officials have placed 118 of the bar employees' contacts under self-quarantine and are testing them for COVID-19. So far, 18 of them have tested negative.

The singer, Yoon Hak, of the K-pop boy band Supernova, had visited the southern Seoul bar in late March before testing positive on April 1.

South Korea's government has shut schools and issued social-distancing guidelines for the public to slow the spread of the virus, but has not enforced lockdowns or broad business closures.

SEOUL, South Korea — In a controversial step, South Korea's government says it will strap electronic wristbands on people who defy self-quarantine orders as it tightens monitoring to slow the spread of the new coronavirus.

Senior Health Ministry official Yoon Tae-ho on Saturday acknowledged the privacy and civil liberty concerns surrounding the bands, which will be enforced through police and local administrative officials after two weeks of preparation and manufacturing.

But he said authorities need more effective monitoring tools because the number of people placed under self-quarantine has ballooned after the country began enforcing 14-day quarantines on all passengers arriving from abroad on April 1 amid worsening outbreaks in Europe and the United States.

Lee Beom-seok, an official from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, admitted that the legal grounds for forcing people to wear the wristbands were "insufficient" and that police and local officials will offer consent forms for the devices while investigating those who were caught breaking quarantine.

Under the country's recently strengthened laws on infectious diseases, people can face up to a year in prison or fined as much as $8,200 for breaking quarantine orders. Lee said those who agree to wear the wristbands could be possibly considered for lighter punishment.

Yes. Remember we have no actual clue what the mortality rate is. The "10x deadlier than flu" thing was based on total garbage numbers, especially if 10x more people got it than originally thought, which is what researchers are starting to think. If this thing was moving through NYC in February (which is a near certainty) then obviously it's not quite the menace people claimed it was, since NYC functioned that month.

This virus is soooo deadly that up to half of people who got it have no symptoms whatsoever. Black Plague this is not.

Sorry my man, but how many doctors and nurses do you know who are afraid of going to work because of the flu?

Wth is going on in the US?? NY specifically

New York on March 13

March 19th

By the afternoon of Sunday, March 15, it was quite clear that strict regulations on gathering at bars and restaurants were soon to come. A 50% capacity reduction was already in place, but compliance seemed inconsistent, and enforcement, sporadic to non-existent. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was just one of the numerous New Yorkers calling for more social separation that weekend. But instead of encouraging people to stay at home, de Blasio told New Yorkers to go for one last drink. "If you love your neighborhood bar, go there now," he said at a press conference, "because we don't know what the future holds."

By Friday, March 13, at least five other states less affected by coronavirus had already shut down their schools in order to slow the spread of the COVID-19, as well as Los Angeles and San Diego, two of the largest school districts in the country. But de Blasio wasn't ready to make changes yet, even though about one-third of New York City public school students were absent that day. Two days later, on Sunday the 15th, after Cuomo announced city schools would be closed starting the next day, de Blasio confirmed the news.

New York City's live theater industry shutdown for at least a month on Thursday, March 12, a day before the ban on gatherings of 500 or more people was set to go into effect. But that morning, de Blasio was still holding out hope that a different decision could be reached.

"I don't want to see Broadway go dark, if we can avoid it," he told CNN that morning. "I want to see if we can strike some kind of balance."

The mayor isn't necessarily known for his artistic taste, but he was eager to share a movie recommendation the night of Mon. March 2, the day that New York City had its first confirmed case of coronavirus. "Since I'm encouraging New Yorkers to go on with your lives + get out on the town despite Coronavirus, I thought I would offer some suggestions," de Blasio tweeted. "Here's the first: thru Thurs 3/5 go see 'The Traitor"'@FilmLinc. If "The Wire" was a true story + set in Italy, it would be this film."

Protests starting in CA:

Looking from the out side in, LA types come across as some of the most entitled little shits on earth.

For a bunch of people that support sanctuary states, UBI (along with San Fran), you think being given free money and getting to stay home and not work would be right up their alley.

Seems theyre protesting just for the sake of being outside and complaining.

CA is a big ass state. Huntington Beach is red as fuck, but they are entitled whiny douche-canoes all the same.

$1200 doesn't buy a hamburger in LA.

NYC is probably one of the most densely populated cities on the planet with people living on top of each other and it's run by idiots.

So that is absolute nonsense. NYC isnt even in the top ten most dense cities in the world. The reason why NYC is a shitshow is a result of the absolutely inept leadership, from the president right down to cuomo.

Hi,

I found my my mother at the bottom of the stairs this morning. She fell and cracked her hip. Unfortunately she had to go to the ER. So our nearly two months of isolation has now been shattered.

They said there was nothing they could do for her, and sent her home - but they gave me morphine pills, so I'm assuming they believe she'll be in pain. I now have to work at a care home that's being hammered by the pandemic AND I have to nurse my mother.

I need something good to happen. I'm not sure I can continue much longer like this - it's just one thing after another. Part of my problem is I'm not a normal male. I'm ridiculously emotional and sensitive. I tend to collapse pretty easily.

Somehow I have to remind myself that there are people who have it worse than me. To those of you who are suffering right now, you have my sympathy. Somehow we have to get through this. I don't know how though. I don't see any light right now.

Jesus, man. You scared me with that first sentence (not that a cracked hip is anything to be relieved about). I wish I could do more than offer words of support, but I hope you're able to keep staying strong for both your mom's and your own sake.

Stay strong man. You mum will need you now more than ever, if nothing else be there for her.

The whole world is in this together.

Ecuador update:

Yeesh.

So right now Ecuador shows 421 deaths and 8450 cases (5% CFR).

They're adding 6700 DEATHS (which would, at least add 6700 cases I think). Who the hell knows what the real numbers are.

Huntington Beach is not LA.
