I was at a wedding just now. This guy sitting next kept caughing, and at the end was telling someone he had just returned from a trip to China/Thailand a few days back, and that Corona virus is just the flu...😑. Why are people so stupid? And why don't they care if they are infecting everyone else? That's just selfish.
The one podcast I listen to a woman was saying how pissed she got at people who told her not to work when sick and how she always came to work when she was sick and that everyone should leave her alone and how they can't PROVE that she gets anyone sick when she does it cause they're not doctors

I have never been so angry listening to a podcast before. Like you're not only extending your own sickness by not getting rest but no matter how much you wash your hands and shit you can't be sure to keep your germs from spreading to coworkers and the wedding is the same thing.

What are the implications for the economy in China and the world if this doesn't calm down significantly in the next one or two months?

Really? I'll text him right now. Maybe he was overstating. I was told people are buying up masks like crazy.

People are cautious but no one is panicking. Life is 99.5% normal. Masks and some other sanitary stuff is hard to buy. That's all.

Damn Iran is fucked

The middle east as a whole will be fucked because of Iran being fucked. So many people travel between Iran and the rest of the region frequently. My previous last 2 landlords here in Dubai were Iranian.

We've had a low number of cases thus far here in Dubai but honestly, looking at the situation elsewhere, I think we've been lucky.

Let’s crash and burn the world economy. Because making money is more important than health and human lives /sarcasm
You can't escape economics. I'm not saying what they did was the right call, but most decisions ultimately come down to a cost/benefit analysis. Depressing the economy costs lives too.

So maybe i will be soon in an "quarantine" zone too.

After Italy their is a high possibility that the virus will spread to switzerland (60.000 italians are coming to Tessin every day) and for us... italy is like a mountain away. We still waiting what happens now.

The doctors are now getting informed about Corona virus and what they have to do if they find someone infected with it.

Next step? Maybe the will close the big "Gotthard" tunnel after today.

at least we got some emergency food stored and we will get some water packs today.

Rest of China magically cured

There's nothing magical about it. I, like most people living in China, have pretty much been confined to my apartment for the past month. It's pretty hard for the virus to spread from person to person when actual person to person contact has been so limited.

There has only been only 1 new confirmed case in the last 3 days in the province where I'm living. They have been keeping a daily blog where the anonymously list every newly infected person, the street they live on, their gender, and their movements over the previous two weeks. It actually has been surprisingly transparent (although I can't speak for Hubei). With the number of new daily cases at zero in much of China now, th question everyone is asking is when we will be able to go back to normal life again. Most people I know think that things will start to go back to normal in each province once we have a clear 14 days of zero (or close to zero) cases.

Its a shit show all around. . .

At least SK is honest. That could warn other lazy countries how serious this is. For Germany I don't have much hope. I mean we have the carnival season right now. Perfect time for a perfect disease storm in the making. So many close contacts between people ><

Well there is enough money with the super rich .. they earned it from us all, so if they are human, it’s time to give a large part back, to keep the world turning and people save and in quarantine.

and to save their own market and business.

its not that hard , enough has been made from oil and software.

My 2 cents

It’s not weird, this virus is very contagious..

Also , I think this is our generations Spanish flu, at least we have more knowledge and better hygiene in this day and age to go through this with less casualties than 1918.

but on the flip side we are more mobile worldwide , so something like this spreads more easily. We will see!

it just feels weird because it feels like the spreading stalled with single digits for over a month in the early countries and boom we have South Korea, Iran, and Italy pushing case numbers heavy now while China cured everyone at home somehow

Hmmm if they die so quickly now in Italy they must have been sick for a while. Why did nobody seem to suspect the coronavirus . . . And now its most likely to late to contain it . . .

That, and the general populace isn't exhausted after a World War

Nothing weird about it...

...the more people are infected the higher the amount of new infections in relation.

Something like this:

1 -> 10
10 -> 100
100 -> 1000

And many people may be infected already but doesnt show any signs of it at the moment. It can take some weeks before you get signs of a infection and until it happens you just infect other people

Afghanistan has confirmed its first case of the coronavirus, in the country's Herat province, the Minister of Public Health Ferozuddin Feroz said today.

Three suspected cases were identified yesterday. They lived in Herat and had recently returned from Iran, where there are 43 confirmed cases.

“After testing their blood we came to know that one of them were coronavirus positive. Those three suspected had recently returned from Qom city of Iran,” said Feroz today.

What people don't get is even if you got seriously ill and you survive this virus your life expectancy will most likely be vastly reduced due to lung damage which this virus is causing.

True , but that could heal I 2 - 3 years if you take care.

I'm not surprised at all by the numbers, mainstream media convinced people it's like the flu, and the cretins eat it up.
It takes one of them cretins to infect dozens.
Awesome Ain’t it, just don’t educate or be realistic, we don’t want mass hysteria on the streets.

but that will likely be the outcome if they handle like this 🤡
