I would argue that the governors knew they may have been too harsh on the whole preventing religious gatherings and local parks and decided to go a little light on assisted care facilities. Have you been to those places? Thick walls. Mighty thick walls. Also, the patients need the human contact. They get depressed when they are lonely. The issue was the healthcare system. We had very good numbers in the first weeks because as soon as a patient was getting better, even if he/she was still covid positive, we would send them back to their old age homes.

The problem is the old age homes weren't ready for that. They didn't have the equipment nor the staff to deal with this.

The healthcare system was incompetent on the whole front. Add that to other factors such as false negative covid tests, bad luck etc.. and you have the disaster we got

We had a patient testing negative after a surgery (she had symptoms so tested her) so they sent her back to the post-op unit, then to a floor unit.

Next day the symptoms got worst, did a 2nd test, turned out to be positive.

Guess what happened next?

Terrible shit I tell you. We had a retired pharmacist on that unit who also had surgery. He was infected and he died last week.

Not saying they necessarily should be mandated, but I do think there is no question that masks can help reduce spread dramatically. Some discussion from Dr. Campbell the other day about a study that came out recently.

I'm not positive yet, but I believe my roommate and I may have the Covid-19 virus. We got the swab test last Monday and are still waiting on the results. If it is it, I'm thankful it's been a mild case.

Just wear a mask. If you are outside away from people or with people who aren't infected (and you aren't) then fine.

But if you are going in public, stores, casinos, whatever wear a mask. Its not the hardest thing to do and its better than lock downs and taking away your other freedoms.

The mask in the end is not to protect you its to protect others and by not wearing one you are really saying you don't care about other people.

Like ya I get you don't want your phone traced, you don't want to be told to close your business, or to stay home, but a mask is right up there with washing your hands on how small of an ask it is of people.

Thank you so much! I'm blessed to have a job where I work from home...so aside from a couple of days, I've still been able to work. I've been resting a lot between shifts and have seen some improvements thankfully.
