I picked this up for PS3 over the weekend (played about 2/3 of the way on PC) and now I'm on The Architect mission, however... I haven't seen any comic, interactive or otherwise that allows me to make the ME1 decisions.

What gives?
EDIT: Bit o' Googling indicates I have to download the comic... what. the. heck?!
Well that kind of sucks. I bought it new but don't have an internet connection yet at my new place. Oh well, I ain't starting again for the FOURTH time!
To get the achievement for beating the Shadow Broker DLC on hard or insanity, can you switch your difficult before playing the DLC, or do you need to have had that difficulty level on since you started that career?
Also, how much more difficult is it to play a whole new character on insanity versus using a new game plus character?

It is one of the last achievements I have left to get, but I can't seem to do it even once, I punch the enemy back he usually falls down and I shoot him dead but it never registers 1/20 on screen to say I did it.

New Game+ on insanity is harder, you don't have all the upgrades at the start but the enemies are scaled on your high level. Only plus is, that it get's easier later on when you do get all your upgrades.
I did Insanity on new game+, and i am by now means that good of a player.
So, not feeling this game at all. I am up to the planet when I first meet with the collectors (some harbringer taking control of a enemy) , and so far I just find it to be a very average fps with boring enemies and very similar scenery. Is it just a slow starter, or is this game just not for me? Will I start seeing something else than corridors and gears style playing soon?
And how much should I farm for resources? Got more than 60.000 of everything (not the far left one)
And I frickin hate games when they set up your teammates as super fucking Mohammad Bruce Lee in their introvideoes, killing hundreds of enemies signing breaking a sweat, but when they are in my team they can't kill shit. But this isn't exclusive to this game, so I will not complain to much about it...
Do you think who survives the last mission will affect ME3 in any way? I hope we get a lot of the same party members again. Carrying friendships and relationships over to the next game would be great.
Finally beat this last night for the first time. 74 hours and change. Did just about everything you could do and really enjoyed it as a whole. I was kind of taken back by how abruptly it ended though, all cliffhanger like. I was full sure the story would continue for a while after the final mission, but I guess not. I felt they put too much focus on the crew recruitment and loyalty missions (As much as I enjoyed them) and not enough on the main story, which was over far too quickly. Hard to complain though I suppose after getting 70+ hours of entertainment out of it.
My only real annoyance was the way the final mission played out.
My boy Mordin ended up buying the farm right at the end, due to an arbitrary decision not to send him on the Normandy crew escort mission. How the hell were you supposed to know that sending someone weak on that mission was the way to go? I originally sent Zaeed, but that didn't work out so well. I ended up loading an earlier save again tonight and earned the 'No One Left Behind' achievement this time. Hopefully he'll make an appearance in the third game, because he was one of my favorite characters. That and hopefully I get to use the hojillion minerals I mined, but never got to use.
All in all though, an epic game from the Bioware folks. I'll probably end up getting that next DLC, but can't see myself wanting the play the next game until sometime next year. Who knows though - maybe I'll get the itch again around Christmas.

I was going to ask you how the hell you got 70+ hours but it seems you answered my question. Mining is how you did it.
For the PC I gave up on that and just granted myself the ore because that minigame was not fun for me, in the slightest.
To answer your question:
Zaeed is a bad leader. He even says so. He's good at keeping himself alive. Others, not at all. In this case, he's a bad choice to lead others. Mordin however, is a good choice to send back even if he's loyal because he's an old man, in salarian years. Having the crew help protect him, and him the crew pretty much ensures his survival.

I guess what happens is a defense roll occurs based upon the strength of the people you leave behind. Because Zaeed had been removed from that group, the defense rating of the group as a whole was dropped and the game will start killing off the weaker characters in a specific order. Mordin was top of that list. This is described in some detail on the
Quick question from an ME noob. I recently started ME2 and also bought all the DLC (360). I did a quest tonight that resulted in getting an email informing me of the Shadow Broker quest. Is it OK to do the quest line prior to finishing the game? Or will I screw up the main storyline by doing it? Thanks in advance.

Plot-wise, makes more sense to do it after the main storyline. The equipment you get before the end-game will be useful though. Completely optional on whatever you do, it shouldn't screw up anything.

You won't screw it up, but it's preferable that you do it after you finish the main game, given that Shadow Broker is meant to bridge the gap between ME2 and ME3.

OK, so I went to Illium and talked to her, which I assume is all part of the main quest, and as long as I don't choose the Shadow Broker conversation path that I'll just be playing the main (non DLC) storyline?

I finished the main story yesterday, and postponed the Shadow Broker mission. Is there any harm, that I talked with L'iara and chose the conversation path, but didn't start the mission yet?
It's a shame though, that some little Xbot decided to reveal there's
a human reaper in the making
at 1UP's "ME2 arriving to PS3" comment section. Guess he was pretty butthurt about that. Luckily the brat didn't reveal anything, that I found more significant;
Collectors = Protheans, teaming with a Geth, the Reaper fleet coming from the dark space in the very end
. I'll definitely stay away from those comment sections in the future.
Is it possible to skip the first hearing during Tali's loyalty mission and just go straight to the Alarai? I think that just happened to me. Didn't even know that was possible.
EDIT: According to someone on GameFAQs, it's a glitch. What a massive glitch if so.
Ok, I shouldn't be in here but I need a quick answer. Is there going to be a GOTY version of this with DLC? I picked up the last GOTY version and it was awesome so I'm trying to wait, but at $20 I'm ready to bite anyway.

You should be OK. I went back to a previous save after I'd finished the game and there weren't any problems.

Thanks for the guidance guys. I was tempted to play Shadow Broker now so that I could get the achievement for continuing a romance with Liara before hitting on everyone in my ship, but I guess I'll just wait. The woman near the map keeps hitting on me. I'm a sessy man.
ME1 is still a good game (I first played it late last year) but you won't really miss much. A couple of old characters do re-appear but it's hardly subtle when they do. If there is something that isn't explained through gameplay, it'll probably be in the database/archive thing.
Which version just arrived? 360 or PS3? If you own a 360, play ME1. I bought ME2 a month ago and started it, and quite frankly I was lost so on a whim I decided to buy ME1 from Games on Demand and it was love at first sight. I'm glad I (eventually) didn't pay attention to all the people that whined about the Mako etc from ME1. And after beating it and importing my save, ME2 is such a better experience than when I attempted to play it the first time. A comic is definitely not the best way to experience ME1, but if you only own a PS3 then take what you can get.
I liked the setup in the first, but enjoy how it changed in the second.
I really don't know what to say. ME1 is much more involved. A lot metric fuckton of missions.
Sure it looks like by that point the team was really bored and just started shitting stuff out, and the missions are much more varied in the second with some very diverse scenery. Their modelers and texture artists worked overtime in the second. Though they cut back in other areas opening them up to do that.
The massive amounts of loot are gone. All the varied armors and weapons of the first are streamlined down into a few alterations you can do to your character. The option of altering your teams appearance in any real way is all but gone.
I appreciate both games. The overall story going on around you in the first is much better than the second, but the characters of the second steal the show. Except Jack. She's just all around irritating.
The threat in the second lacks the weight of the first, but that's all nitpicking what is still a finely crafted game.
I recommend playing both if you can, but don't feel bad about jumping straight into the second. It's a pretty self-contained story.
The 360 version of ME1 is truly a technical mess. The only version of that game I'd recommend is the PC version, which still has technical issues but not nearly as bad.

I never got disc read errors, but I bought it from On Demand, so no disc. But I did have to endure the god-awful framerate issues. Wow, I don't think I've ever played a game with a framerate that was as bad as this. And it affected gameplay, which is doubly worse. I guess it says a lot about how good the game is that I endured it.
I finished Shadow Broker. A side from a few annoying bugs(crashed once, glitched once and screwed my save up, thankfully I had one about 15 minutes earlier) it was a really good piece of DLC.
One question though
If I didn't start a relationship with Liara in the first game, am I forever stuck in the friend zone now? After this, I'd much prefer her. I'm guessing she'll be in 3 as well. I spoke with her and she went up to the ship but just spoke a bit and left.
