Mass Effect 5 was revealed in December 2020.

It's crazy how long it takes for games to release
.

We got the whole Mass Effect trilogy in one gen, during the PS360 era.

If this ever releases, it will likely be a 2030 - 2032 game.

Anyone remember when the started doing damage control (about this game) before the release of Dragon Age Veilguard? :messenger_smirking:
They are probably doing the same thing that Disney is doing with their Star Wars movies (they will talk about them for a while and then nothing aka bye bye :messenger_winking:!).

I used to be a massive BioWare fan in the 2000s and the last game of theirs I played was Inquisition, I don't imagine I will play Mass Effect 5.

jurassic park deal with it GIF
is coming.

I'm ready to eat my own words but is anyone out there really expects this game to be good?
Supposedly the Mass Effect team was brought in to help fix Veilguard, and this team was responsible for the best parts of the game (e.g. the finale).

So that gave me a tiny sliver of hope that the new Mass Effect might be good.

Still overwhelmingly likely that it will suck though. Assuming BioWare doesn't get euthanized before then.

Andrew Wilson really fucked EA, huh? Everything that's not EA Sports is a fucking clusterfuck, and has been for more than a decade now.

The next game will be even worse than Andromeda, Bioware won't learn why Wokeguard flopped so hard. We should be rooting for Exodus instead and hoping it will bring back some of the old ME magic.

If all NPCs are gender-fluid, it probably takes some time to decide their momentary location on the spectrum for each particular interaction with the player character.

I guarantee it's taking longer because every game Bioware has put out in the last 10 years has flopped, and they end up having to reevaluate each new project in development to try to change course to avoid that problem. Bioware magic never existed, and if it ever did...it's been gone since Andromeda.

Pretty much have no faith they'll make a great game again, so I get to be pleasantly surprised if they can prove otherwise.

Games aren't 5 years under preproduction. Preproduction takes some months, under a year or two.

I assume they announced that were going to work in a new Mass Effect years before starting to work on it.

Shouldn't of announced it being in production so early. 5 years and it only being in pre-production doesn't exactly bode well either after they shit out DA - Veilguard.

Pre? How long will production take then jeeeze

Well, I guess I'd rather it be late and good than another miss that sets the Mass Effect series back by years and years like Andromeda
