Stardew Valley will be perfect for the Switch. Really excited for it. I played a few hours on PC, but I didn't like it there that much. Just not the kind of game I want to play on a PC all day. Will be much better in handheld mode for me

Someone recommend me a cool game for tabletop mode

2D co op action

Released or not ?

Released we have Snipperclips and.... shock troopers or metal slug ?

Unreleased Enter the Gungeun, Towerfall, Overcooked (it has 2d gameplay), Zombie Vikings, 1001 Spikes ... maybe Kingdom: Two Crowns or Toe Jam & Earl (nor exactly 2d) ?

Looks cool, 6-player is really interesting because not much takes advantage of that except Bomberman right now right? I actually have the game for PC but I wonder if they'd port a feature like that back into it now.

We don't have a thread for this game and couldn't think of a better place to post it, here's Astro Duel Deluxe which is out on the eShop tomorrow:

I've had this game on my iPhone for years. It's an alright game, in that two players can play on a single phone. It's very simple, you can only turn in one direction. I wonder how many people have paid for it on mobile. $15 seems way too much.

I really didn't pay much attention to indies before getting the Switch, being more of a "AAA only" gamer. What a mistake that was, as I've purchased and put several hours into many fun indie games on the Switch and now actively look for more.

I've really enjoyed the recommendations here and on Reddit, and have a lot to play because of it.

Purchased: Mr. Shifty, Snake Pass, NBA Playgrounds, The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth +, Has Been Heroes and Jackbox 3.

Looking at getting Thumper, Wonderboy, Rime and Yooka-Laylee (when it releases) next.

Better late than never. You have tons of great games to discover and many more gems to come, on Switch or elsewhere.
For me the same thing happened with the Vita.

That mode is also on the Switch! You can have four people huddled around the tablet and play with touch controls, I've only tried it with my fiance but I imagine it gets a little crowded with more people.

Here is the list updated so far with the Nindies for Switch. Let me know with a PM if Im missing any ;)

Full list here: http://www.indie-eshop.com/platforms/nintendo-switch

EDIT: added Picontier!

Is Zombie Vikings really confirmed for Switch? Last I read was that they made a quick port for Switch, but that they still needed Nintendo's approval?

EDIT: Found a Switch trailer for the game, but that seems to be a fan-made Switch trailer? Is there any released by Nintendo?

Not sure now if it is 100% confirmed. They have this video from january: https://twitter.com/ZoinkGames/status/822472602660835328
And they are bringing already Flipping Death as well.

EDIT: so yeah, I guess it's pretty much confirmed:

No, that's not confirmed. They ported it (since they have a devkit), but yet no confirmed go-ahead from Nintendo (although they seems positive):

You've teased the prospect of Zombie Vikings on Switch (on Twitter), do you have an update on this?

We did a quick test with Zombie Vikings on the Switch and it works out really beautifully with two players with the two Joy-Con. I really want to do it and even though it's early it looks like Nintendo is positive to it. If we get it approved, then it will release as early as this summer.

Did anyone pick up Astro Duel Deluxe? Seems like a fun adaptation of an iPad party game.

Reviews:
Nintendo Life
Destructoid

Had a look at some of the reviews and was a bit baffled with the Nintendo World Report one, which essentially praises the game for its multiplayer charms, but docks it for not being a great single player game:

This game is meant to be played with a bunch of friends talking trash and taking each other out. If you find yourself in the company of like-minded friends on a semi-regular basis, this game could provide some great laughs and fun. I absolutely can see where, especially with a bit of liquid enhancement, it could make for a great party game. Unfortunately, if you’re generally only going to be able to play the game by yourself, or the people you can play with don’t roll retro, it is hard to give it a recommendation. Correctly scoring a game with such a laser-focus on a goal that it hits but that, by design, misses so much of the general audience is a challenge

If A.D.D. succeeds at doing what the devs set out to do - a multiplayer/party game - it feels unfair to take off points because it's not a compelling single player game. The Switch is so young and no one has data on what its general audience likes that it's somewhat disingenuous to assume Astro Duel Deluxe misses the "general audience", surely? It would be wrong to assume that a game has to appeal to a general audience in order to score highly too, sometimes people don't know what they want until they try it.

I bought Astro Duel Deluxe. It's a very polished game, and the blocky 8bit graphics actually make sense, since you need to shoot the pilot after shooting the ship. Making it less realistic retains the party game feeling.

I agree with the reviewers: it's a really great local multiplayer game, but for the price some sort of good single player content could be expected.

Picked up Astro Duel Deluxe after having read review. Very glad I did!

As there are reviews and videos around, I won't be repeating the same stuff, rather I'm going to write down a few comments having in mind what I would have liked to know in advance.

The single player is exactly like multi player, but with CPU players. It's fun and, to me at least, challenging. You have ship deathmatch, team ship deatchmatch and the same two modes but with player instead of ship. What changes between ship and player modes?

In ship mode, when your ship explodes you're out of the game, while in pilot mode, when your ship explodes you can still run around with your tiny pilot, completely harmless, and if you manage to survive for a few seconds you get another ship. Splatting sounds and blood are for pilot mode (when you splat / shoot a player outside its ship).

You have two modes, one with joycon controls (you can rotate in either direction) and one using the touchscreen, but you can only rotate in one direction.

The powerups and scenarios are cool and varied, there's a lot of strategy to this game. Played with other people is where it's at, but even in single player is great. The cpu opponents are good (there are multiple skill levels) and if you feel too good you can always put yourself in a team and several cpu opponents on the other team.

Personally I'm still playing at the easiest difficulty setting and having a blast.

It's very easy to learn and has a few things to make sure the game doesn't get too frustrating.

Before matches, you have to pass a simple test, run around a circle track, so that everyone is aware of how to control the ship (not everyone finds asteroids intuitive).

If a match goes on for too long, the playing field start to shrink and the borders become electrified so if you touch them it's an insta kill. The game never drags on too much.

Points are awarded for every ship that you destroy, so you could be killed but still get points (the winner is the first to reach a certain amount of points). If you kill yourself, e.g. by running into an electrified wall, you lose one point. Even if you have one player that is much more skilled than the others, there is still competition which is good.

Played with two of my kids (8 and 13) and we had a great time. This is going to stay on my Switch forever I think.

Hotline Miami would be perfect for Switch, and perfect for HD Rumble. My hand still aches from the bomb that goes off in that one level.

It's gotta be in the works!

Glad it's good. The question I was asking was: Is it fair to dock a game that's made to do multiplayer just because it doesn't include single player? Imagine if multiplayer had become the expectation for a game to be a certain level of "good", does that mean Breath of the Wild can't be "good"? Of course not.

I mean, they're charging twice the price for the Switch version. I'm glad it's good, but it doesn't seem to include twice the content. They might get fewer complaints if it was a $5 game

Fair enough. Does the Switch version not add any extra content? Being able to play this game with 2 controllers out of the box (and system itself) seems like a boon though.
