The properly Nintendo support was the surprise.
They're marketing it everywhere in the UK, even in the supermarkets they have it as part of a rolling teaser showing on the TV's in store.
Not if you watched how Nintendo treated Splatoon since last E3.

Might actually have higher sales then April perhaps?
I think it simply means the PS4 won May after losing April. I highly doubt the PS4 sold better in May 2015 than May 2014.
