GTA V bundle wasn't enough last year, and last year wasnt even big as this year going to be for Microsoft. So I doubt it. Will sell good regardless, but nothing that would top the sale. And Microsoft is also mentioning Battlefront in their news plus it will be available 2 weeks early on EA Access.

Last year the XB1 had a $50 price cut and was bundling 2 games along including a brand new AAA strong franchise for free.

You can bet your furry panda butt that the PS4 will have its own price cut before or around the Holidays this time around :)

PS4 wins the month before the Batman Bundles launch?

That's impressive, I expected a dip with people holding out for the Batman Bundle.. And with a white Halo bundle on the market to compete against?

I'm kinda shocked, and quite impressed..

I'm really interested in knowing how Splatoon amiibos did, honestly.

May 29th amiibos effectively 100% sold out by May 31st. The less desired/more common ones should start being readily available around now, though. Splatoon 3-pack was well sought after, though. Probably just an offshoot of general amiibo craziness, but willing to hope it was for interest in the game.

Not gonna lie I thought Xbone was gonna win May by a little because Witcher 3 advertisements. Guess not.

Still surpised how Xbone won April.

So I won't be posting any graphs/charts tonight guys. If someone wants to take over then feel free.

Although I will post one chart which I believe will give people an overview of the market for May. Please see below.

How can anyone explain this? nothing has changed since last month so why the PS4 won? and if so than why XB1 took April in the first place? can't find any logic to this.

Big XB1 trade-in deal from GameStop in April pushing a lot of hardware sales and that deal was absent in May.

Easy: The was the Gamestop Trade-in deal last month for the XBO. And so, the XBO barely won. Now everything is back to normal again = PS4 winning

Xbox One trade in deal at Gamestop last month helped minimize the drop the system had.

I'd like to see actual numbers for May though as I don't expect either console to have done that well.

Unless Sony pulls a 2013, and at E3 they announced GT7 for PS4 releasing this holiday, I see the Xbox One selling more throughout.due to the stronger exclusive lineup. Though it may be close if Sony does a pricecut.

Edit: nvm, got reminded of Battlefront, and the inevitable ps4 bundle with it. Not as clear cut as I thought it would be.
Not just Battlefront, don't forget Destiny Comet marketing

I can assure you One is up YOY, and by a lot!

Fyi, it was the month right before the Kinectless SKU, already announced.

Just goes to show just how much power Gamestop has. Interesting that a single retailer running a single promotion can sway the NPD.

I wonder how close it is? With this month being very low, and Wii U increasing nicely, I wonder how big the gap is between Xbox One and PS4? I'm thinking <30k. I expect a much bigger gap in June, the fastest summer month.

I guess

XB1 April = Deal in deals + Halo bundles as par John Harker comment

PS4 May = Deal in deals + the usual

Ah shit!

Not gonna lie, I know you're gonna hate me for this, but I really wanted Splatoon to bomb. I'm in that wall of of shame (people downplaying Splatoon) and I really wanted to have a big laugh when Splatoon bombs in US.
People actually wanted it to bomb?

Expecting is one thing but actually wanting it to bomb just so you could laugh?

ahhhh....I mean, It's May. There's a difference between "May sales in the infancy of a console" and "didn't do well".
