I live in a very marginal constituency (Belfast north).

Voted for Sinn Fein as the thought of having the DUP, an anti-gay and anti-woman party, having any say in national politics by being in a Conservative coalition is pretty sickening.

Personally I'm watching Sir Andy Baron Murray OBE beat up some poor Spaniard.

Not enough honours there for Andy.

Interesting article about the labour response to the hypothetical coup http://blogs.spectator.co.uk/coffeehouse/2015/05/has-ed-miliband-got-something-clever-up-his-sleeve/

Seems borderline fantasy to me, but worth a read.

Yeah, that's high fantasy that. It'd be amazing to see though, even if pushing through that level of constitutional reform without once mentioning it in the election would be a bit dodgy to me.

0.110 for me. Really safe Labour seat. Our inevitable is a new candidate though, and seems to have a genuine interest in housing, so we'll see how that goes.

It's quite fun working for a housing association during this election knowing that practically everyone in the building is voting Labour unless they hate their job.

I was surprised to see major queues at the polling station, but by the time I made it inside it was clear that it was more down to horrible mismanagement rather than virile democracy.

Do the right thing UK, and make David Cameron go away.

Why bro? I like him, far more than whats available.

Guess you know who ive voted for. Labour are wreckless, the way they left the country 5 years ago is unforgivable, Lib Dems have no chance of doing much unless its a coalition and (lol) i cant vote UKIP.

Im content with my decision. My family voted Conservative.

British media worse than Fox news.
Telegraph emailing readers to vote Conservative.

It's all a bit sad really.

I'd rather have the virulent print media we have than the insane televisual media that the US has. Print is dying. Having a precedent like Fox or removing standards compliance in our broadcast media would be genuinely dangerous with power broking propagandists like Murdoch in the world.

Too bad the DUP and UUP have an election pact. The UUP aren't running in North Belfast, all their votes go straight to the DUP.

Voted about an hour ago, seemed to be a steady stream of people going in and out. My area is labour/lib dem so I'm interested to see who comes out on top

That's the plan!

Can the SNP win the majority in Parliament?

As far as I'm aware, the SNP has something like 60 standing candidates, and 326+ are required for an outright majority. (So no, they cannot)

I dunno. What Tory pledges on the economy came true from 5 years ago?

I kind of agree. They could have least have gone after the reckless bankers who caused this mess and prosecuted them.

I still voted for them though. More as a tactical vote to ensure the Tories get kicked out.

Last election I was working in NHS community mental health and one of the nurses voted for the Tories. I couldn't really believe it. 12 months later our ward had been completely closed, as had another 4 in the area. She regretted it.

Sorry, but Labour weren't the problem with the economy last time, and Tories planned to match their spending pound for pound. Might want to educate yourself about the situation before you go around calling them reckless.

Good places to start.

Or wreckless, even.

An hour and a half left! Just a reminder to any particularly lazy bums/hard-working slaves that you can and should still vote! Doesn't have to be a candidate, you can turn up and spoil that ballot, but please do your democratic duty.

held my nose and voted labour, no sign of the greens on the MP ballot or council ballot though, sadly.

hoping miliband is braver and bolder than he seems.

I have voted.
My constituency is currently a Lib Dem seat, it has been since 2001. Conservative have ran them close every election though.

Decided to change my vote at the last minute, my vote is a super safe Labour seat so I went with Greens just so Labour may adopt a few more Green policies (looking at you Trident and legalising Marijuana).

My current struggles to watch Election Wipe on iPlayer despite being literally a foot and a half from my router means I don't think I'll be watching this live.

LOL. I really can't see that happening any time soon.

I don't even smoke it but I think it would be better for the local farmers who produce the stuff to be paid by corporations rather than drug lords.

Plus we have a large deficit and I bet you could charge quite a lot of tax on it to generate a fair bit of extra cash.

Just outside. Now who the hell do i vote for???

Vote with your heart mate, it's the simple answer :)

I made myself a little command line program in Scala so I can easily enter the seat totals from the exit poll and see for each possible government how big their majority is/how short of a majority they are.

I might be a little too excited for this.

I couldn't be arsed to walk to Waitrose so I had to settle mostly for Sainsbury's Taste The Difference range (which, I think, as a title is quite dismissive of their other ranges). And I have the whole living room to myself, an entire meatloaf in the fridge (thus the 4 loose rolls) and enormous amounts of tissues (planning for both eventualities).

Aah. The smell of democracy. (Which smells a lot like old schools. I had a bit of a nostalgia crash when I walked in.)

Edit: also I legit voted for the Whig party. I like any party about whom all the quotations on the leaflet are from the 1800's.

I don't know if that makes up for getting Lotus Caramelised Biscuits instead of McVitie's Chocolate Hobnobs.

So turns out I have 0.070 voting power.

If I'd stuck around in Crawley I'd be at 0.313 voting power. But I'd still be in Crawley.

I agree about the weed stuff. I just don't see it happening any time soon which is a big pity.

Was at work til 8, had lots of people in saying that the polling station around the corner from where i work was busy. Great.

Got home and just went and voted. 3 elections around here - Parish council, Borough Council and General Election. Both boxes (one for general one for both local) were very full and the ladies there said they'd been very busy. Fantastic news.

My polling station is in a sports hall. Smells of sweat, but the walls are covered in posters by local community groups for kids: Somali alphabets (never seen before, cool), Brazilian flags, picture of the queen. Modern urban Britain, yo.
