UKIP were coming from a very low base, and Labour has no more votes to get.

I actually genuinely hope the Liberal Democrats can cling on. Without them, the prospect of electoral reform is so much worse and the meaningful amount of choice the electorate has is diminished. They deserved to be punished, but this... this is too much.

They don't have £250,000 spare to put candidates up for seats they can't defend deposits. It would genuinely be that dire. The BBC exit poll is effectively predicting the death of the Liberal Democrats as a viable nation-wide party.
