That's just another excuse. You could get a slow cooker and look up recipes. You put everything into the pot in the morning and when you come home everything is ready. That's just one out of tons of other options.

I hate the slow cooker excuse. If I were to take my current slow cooker and set it to cook when I leave for work, I'm coming home to burnt food 12 hours later. I would have to shell out the money for a new one with a timer for that to ever be a realistic option. And that's assuming I know with 100% certainty that I'll be coming home at a decent hour.

Everyone works on the GO, everyone eats on the GO. Not surprising. People are busy and fast food is fast.

It used to be cheap, maybe that'll curve the fast food love now?

Besides, this guys company (amongst so many others) has done major damage. Even if you only want to blame the individual it still doesn't hide the cultural phenomenon.

People need to take control and stop eating shit just because it's cheap, they're busy, it's fast and convenient but you know what...that's exactly the problem in the first place.

BOOTSTRAPS

Like I said, there are parents that work 9-5 and then have children that have extra-cirricular activities that can last 1-2 hours a night. Sometimes 3-4 nights a week. Then at some point you have to have time for bathing, sleeping, homework etc.

Fast food didn't get popular because people are lazy or because it tastes so good. It's because it's fast.

And what I posted is what parents should honestly do if they care for the welfare of their children. There is nothing bootstraps about it. If you have children you should do your best to see that they are eating right. I realize this economy is shit and that some people have to work two jobs but maybe instead of watching American Idol, some people could make sure their kids aren't stuffing fast food down their throats every other day while PE in school is an honest joke. The amount of children who are obese right now is ridiculous.

Is this too much food?

this is actually not to bad, the shake is probably the worst part of the meal. The burger could be half the size and remove most of the bacon and with a whole wheat bun, but sweet potato fires are a healthier choice then the regular fries. Unfortunately I can't tell what the portion sizes are because it's hard to reference the size in the shot, but i would probably eat that.

I always looked up to parents, but I had no idea they were goddam superheros! How did they find the strength to do what they did? How did the billions of other families that came before us ever manage? They must have not been busy at all.

It would be pointless to compare eras. The norms of raising a child today is radically different than it was in the 70's. Parents then were younger, less focused on their children, children's activities were focused around the neighborhood and there was much less access to fast food.

It's not like we are talking about 'good parents' back then either. These were the same people that would smoke everywhere in front of their child, consumed a shit ton of alcohol and pour soda drinks, white bread and Twinkies down their throat all day.

Just as it would be ridiculous to support a parent that mostly feeds his child fast food, it's equally as ridiculous to expect them to never feed them fast food.

The Cryptarch's Bane
Ever scene I went back to work in April I have had 2 mcdoubles and a medium fry 5 days a week for launch. Sometimes 6 times a week. Though I walk to and from work everyday which is about 3 or some miles all together and I'm fine. Not saying they are health because they aren't but people need to understand it's just easier to take 3 minutes to get mcdonalds then it is to go to a store, buy the stuff you need to make, and go back and make it. Lazy? Sure but who cares? It's up to me.
Heyyyy watch your sodium man :p
