This one needs a remake and must be done by some studio who can re-create original atmosphere in High definition.

Is it the game based on Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan, where the Normandy landings are so empty that there are only three soldiers on the beach?

And where you shoot a German in the head, and his animation is him grabbing his chest,

and in one scene, a German cook appears who wants to kill you?

Where you shoot a German with a cannon and he just says, aaahhh huuuu. 0:40

All in a 20 fps?

Yeah, that's the one. However, the game is over 20 years old. The tech didn't exist then to have hundreds of men storming the beaches.

However, a remake could totally do that now. We could have a WW2 game that can realistically capture the horrific scale of that conflict.

Medal of Honor took on battlefield and even call of duty in the 2010s with effective gameplay, ok story telling and a brief gameplay on modern warfare. Medal of Honor was one of the largest shooters on PS2, PS1 as well. EA is scared to bring it back after what happened to CONCORD.

MoH Frontline on PS2 is more influential than Gravity Rush series.
But we're talking about Allied Assault, which is even more influential :messenger_smiling_with_eyes:

Its a console game from 25 years ago.

What are you expecting.

Allied Assault was legendary.

Excuse me but this is the most retarded take I've heard on this website. Game was fucking legendary.

Oh god. Please let it not over do it like Battlefield 1.

The battlefield set in world war 1 was like a Michel Bay film.

This thread made me get the game. It's just ten bucks on GOG, plus there's a modern source port (OpenMOHAA) that should make it work in modern systems. Nice!

Thread Titel: Medal Of Honor: Allied Assault.

Only in Gravity Rush they show the values of life beautifully. It's not like a War with many kills; comparisons are out of the question. 😉

One of my favourite FPS ever.
It's basically the precursor that paved the way for Call of Duty 1 and 2, if you love those types of games and aren't put off by old game jank then you'll love this.

Oh I know! I already played those back then. Well I don't think I got to play both expansions, but I beat the main campaign many times, loved the normandy mission, not so much the sniper one lol.

Amazing games indeed. The musical score was something else and really elevated the gameplay experience.

No, that's Frontline. Allied Assault is a different game, though it came out around the same time (2002).

I played it originally on Xbox. Console games were very limited in their power to render huge-scale action back then, so it's no surprise that the Normandy landing was limited to a dozen soldiers. CPU and memory limitations were pretty severe.

But it was fun game nonetheless. I re-played it recently on an old Xbox 360. I had a good time with it. It brought back some memories. I ended up quitting, though, because the game kept forcing me to replay long segments where I got killed at the very end. That's one of my pet peeves - don't waste my time! I'd forgotten how unfriendly checkpoint systems could be back then.

Pretty nice. However the bombed out French village teeming with snipers would have looked incredible if done properly.

Might reinstall AA, one of the best shooters of its time after we started moving away from the 90's stuff.

Anyway, it's similar to Cod back in the day; they release the same games with the same themes. 😉
After Allied Assault 2015 Inc. members formed Infinity Ward and created Call of Duty.

This is the mission by the way.

Allied Assault and the original PS1 games were series peak. Although i kind of liked Airborne or 2010 reboot.

It was honestly something special. Remember me and my friends doing nothing than talking about it and playing whenever we could. It had just released and we went home from school during lunchtime just to play it for 45 minutes. Amazing game, it still comes up in conversation with my friends from back then.

Medal of Honor is better than that Spielberg trash.

One of the best videogame OSTs ever, I don't understand why so few people mention it when talking about game music.
Then years later EA also got Djawadi for 2010 and Warfighter, both also had excellent soundtracks and both Giacchino and Djawadi became Hollywood darlings.
Christopher Lennertz has also been putting out decent soundtracks in movies and television for decades now.

I don't know who it was, but whomever was scouting composers for the Medal of Honor games at EA should be well rewarded because that person has a great scent for talent.

Frontline was one of the greatest shooters ever made for it's time. Had a lot of cinematic appeal and memorable characters, plot, and an actual boss fight against a General and his gang of Gestapo.

I never got around to playing Allied Assault unfortunately, but this looks nice.

The OST for Frontline is, to this day, my favorite VG soundtrack of all time. Giacchino produced some absolutely stunning music.

I hate censorship... i mean why censor the swastikas, even in Germany the uncensored versions are allowed on steam these days :P

loved the MOH games back in the day, we used to play the MP every lunch time in work, along with the original Call of Duty those opening levels like storming across the river into Stalingrad where graphical showcases back in the day, they were quite literally mindblowing lol.. look a tad dated now but man we all thought they were the pinnacle of graphics

How young are people here fuck 😂 MoH proceeds CoD and the OG CoD developers developed MoH, I would find it hard recreating the MoH atmosphere on current systems…. The low power of only seeing a few metres from 'fog' and system limitations and the trench's of WW2 while dogs bark was one of the main definers.

Used to love playing Spearhead and Breakthrough online. Fking hilarious hearing those death cries …
