I still expect the Wii to sell 2-3x the PS360 total YTD by the end of the year, but I definitely wasn't expecting an immediate dropoff following both Yakuza 3 and RE5 coming out. HW Sales don't get a huge boost from two consecutive big games and then fall off the cliff the next week outside of shortages. That would just be historically unprecedented. The PS3's held up a little better than I expected (I predicted weekly totals through the FFXIII demo week sometime back, if you want to see actual numbers), though, IIRC.

so NPD sales relates to Japanese sales now?

Sure, it relates in world wide matters, but it doesn't relate to anything with Japanese games release that never tends to see western release

Last week the PS3 and the Wii were tied in Famitsu right? Wii has held steady now for more than 1month at that level so we should be able to easily tell if MHG moves hardware or not when its released next week

Wii Fit Plus (if the retailer lists are correct, this will hit Japan this year)

...would be the three I would expect to boost hardware sales both short- and long-term, but the market in Japan is a bit unpredictable at the moment. There are also a number of other medium-sized titles due out over the next 8 months, but those three - or two if you want to discount the rumoured Wii Fit Plus - are the most likely to cause upticks in hardware sales.
