What the hell....

Platform - MC vs Fami vs Dengeki
DSL 70608 vs 78000 vs ---
PSP 58669 vs 64000 vs ---
Wii 24932 vs 31000 vs ----
PS3 17130 vs 12000 vs 16000
PS2 10281 vs 11000 vs ----
360 3011 vs 5000 vs ----

Seriously what the fuck is this. RECOUNT EVERY SOLD UNIT :lol

Later I'll update the DBZ PS2 comparison and probably will add another for Gundam PSP, Kyotaro DS...maybe a Wii and PSP comparison too, because they really didn't match lately.

cw_sasuke

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
what 1st day sales can we expect from ffta2 and winning eleven ds ?

Are there still people in this thread that don't realise that all JP games sales are estimates based on a sample of stores? Like the rather faboo Vink's Village on a much larger scale?

Only the UK/ChartTrack capture pretty much all of the games sold in their respective countries - which is why their data isn't free. So you either have discrepancies and public data, or accuracy and private data.

I would also think that the jp trackers are less accurate(but not significant enough to render them useless like ********) since they have to track more indy retailers on a weekly basis.

Wow, Imabi Kisou sold more than i expected on it's first day. I expected better sales for PS3 The Eye of Judgement, though. Same for Zack & Wiki.

Perfectly able to grasp the inherent value of the fishing game.

That's it, I've had enough, you bastards were supposed to buy Zack and Wiki, instead it gets outsold by an Arcade port from 2004, WTF is this shit? Also undeserved Bomba for EoJ, shame.

I believe (and very much hope) that this is good. How many units did the first one sell?

Edit: I found the number 56,950 for first week I think. But I'm far from a sales-age expert so take this with a load of salt.

I forgot Bladestorm 360, 3000 units :/

(Made a quick mistake taking Hitman as Wii but its PS2 as it said at first)

It has done 140% the first one figures, so very good!

Imabikisou sell through is just 20% (so the first shipment was 75k). Not looking good.

EDIT: Made another mistake...Dungeon Maker is DS not PSP.

-- Great

-- Meh, but not too surprising

-- Very disappointing – hopefully whatever sales it garners fall within Capcom’s projections and justify a sequel

-- Sheesh – very bad. Any reason for this, as it looked like a reasonably good DDR title

About FFTA2...sinobi comments that FFT PSP did 120k first day but since A2 is a new title, it is expected to do better in the weekend. I think he also says that the sell through is so-so.

First week figures for FFT PSP is 170k. For FFTA GBA 225k (no first day numbers for this one).

Hehe, thats one way to spin it i guess :p But anyway, the shipment for Z&W was only 10k? o_O If so, Capcom doesnt have much faith in Wii then.

Btw, no tracking for these 3 Wii games or were they delayed?

10.25 Gintama: Banji Oku Chuubu (BNGI)
10.25 Simple Wii Series Vol. 1: The Minna de Kart Race (D3)
10.25 Simple Wii Series Vol. 2: The Minna de Bass Tsuri Taikai (D3)

Great number (I think). What did the previous versions sell, firstday/week one/LTD?

Poor sales. Not unexpected though.

Fuck. Should do better in the west though.

Shit. Should do better in the west though.

Dunno what to think.

Why do they even bother making it then? :p The game looks great and it looks like it had great potential to sell many copies. And the Capcom ship only 10k? (if true of course). Seems wierd to me.

i suspect it was a way to familiarise themselves with the Wii and Wiimote hardware.

Thry probably also deemed it profitable enough since it probably didn't cost that much. Capcom being experimental with low risks, i would say and that's a very good thing.

we saw them treat Phoenix Wright:AA the same in the West. what's going to be interesting is to see how much demand holds up over time and if the game gets restocked. word of mouth should give this one SOME legs.

Wow, those are incredibly poor number for Zack & Wiki. I assumed that after the gaming drought, a decent game would fare bette. What next? SMG at 9000?

it's still a game in an almost extinct and incredibly niche genre.

It might be that they made a game like this to get familiar with the Wii controller, but i dont think its the main reason. If it was, then they could just make a mini game collection or something that would take less time and be more cheap to make.

Z&W is not just a shovelware game, it seems they have put some time and effort into it. If they didnt have faith in the products they were making i dont see why they would make it. I belive that Capcom thought this would be a great hit to be honest. As said, they game looks to have great potetinal in selling many copies.

However, this is only 1st day sales, i'll wait for the full week numbers. It might be somewhere between 15-20k. I dont know exactly how much that was expected from this game in terms of sales, but from what i've read and the hype i've seen i would think it would sell more atleast. This is also just Japan, it might do much better in the west and some/much profit could be made :)

Its called creative freedom, Japanese publishers actually trust there developers and let them do as they please. Thats why the Japanese companies are much better with hardware like the Wii and DS.

No...if they expected it to sell they would've shipped more to retailers. Retailers only ever take orders from the really important games like Mario or Dragon Quest.

Well what you believe is wrong because the developer himself said he didn't believe it would sell much. Only after IGN's buy Zack and Wiki campaign had they hope that it would do well in the US.
