Media Create Sales 12/26-01/01 It's Real Bitches

Hey, Ryu Ga Gotoku is still selling rather well, (actually it went up about 4 spots, if I'm not mistaken). It seems like it's got some legs, although not as obvious like the ones in top 10 though. ;)

What were the top-selling PS2 games for 2005 in JP and how did they sell? Million sellers are very rare there now, right?

Prediction: By March Tecmo will announce a PS3 version of DOA 4.

Probably need to see what the sales are in North America and Europe are first.

Although I wouldn't be surprised if DoA4 Hardcore for Playstation 3.

I don't understand the amazing success of the Brain Training games, but I will be picking this up in NA when it is out to see the hub bub is about. Or maybe not the NA version, but perhaps the European version since it has some extra modes. NoA got punked by NoE, how the hell did this happen? I want my extra puzzle mode.

Really ? Quite surprising, actually... (Only the Tecmo soft attempt ?)

Rio pachislo is really rather tame. Not going to see red-label software on it for quite a while, if ever---it historically only happens with consoles that are bombing.

And no, I'm NOT counting UMDs as software in that example. :lol Think Saturn and some of the systems that didn't even make it over.

I'm sure only about GT4 and probably WE9, but last Dinasty Warriors chapter sold less more then other ones, so probably GT4, WE9 and (maybe) Kingdom Hearts 2.

But considering AC, Brain Training and Nintendogs for DS, this year in Japan only 5 or 6 games broken the million barrier.

Ok, this is REALLY printing money for Nintendo. 400K for brain training 2 is insane from every point of view. How much money do u thing the development of such game costed? Im thinking close to NOTHING. Gosh.

Wow, PSP software didn't do too good even with 100k system sales. Is Sony still taking a loss on PSP systems? If so....

It's pretty amazing to think how profitable the brain training games are for Nintendo. Didn't the original one have a staff of 10 and take 4 months to make? I'm sure that brain training 2 couldn't have had that many more people working on it.

Given how difficult it is to find the information, am I right in thinking there haven't been any Japanese release lists for the DS lately?

Since you're mentioning Rio De Carnival. Does anyone know where to find nice wallpaper from Rio? Can't find anything. :(

Ahahhaha..

Pretty bad for Nintendogs. And people thought it would sell a million.

I'm the one who was betting the dogs won't ever sell a million btw, some people are wondering who made that bet.

Well looks like I win the bet, eh?

*wipes tears*

EDIT: Ops.. Didn't click your link there Faceless Master. Spent too much time browsing through the threads.

Was this...

ever updated? And can I get a copy of the original poorpsp pic?

Latest chart added on Everything and Nothing:

http://everythingandnothing.org.uk/vg/japweekly.php?date=38718

Four million sellers already, and MK, Wario Ware and Tamogotchi closing in, with Mario 64 and Brain Training 2 likely to reach the milestone as well.

NINE million sellers in just over a year? Two of them could hit two million (BT and AC)??

And 2-3 years ago the following were unheard of:

Nintendogs
Brain Training
Brain Training 2
Brain Training Gentle
Wario Ware

In fact the only two you would have predicted are

Mario Kart
Mario 64 DS

Stunning performances:

And whilst I've been impressed with Monster Hunter sales, it's only just ahead of Slime Mori Mori and DBZ on DS.

There are some amazing success stories.

Animal Crossing and Brain Trainings are just WOW, but even Mario Kart is doing FAR FAR better than the last two outings- Super Circuit and Double Dash.

In fact, if you count the fact that MK DS releases about a week earlier equivalent than Mario Kart 64, then it's almost tracking level with that game, which is Nintendo's biggest non-Pokemon game of the last 10 years with 2.24m sold in total:
