You're dismissing unknown Wii games while praising equally unknown 360 games. You are also ignoring the DS, probably because it would take ages to put smilies next to every quality game on it, and ignoring the fact that many of the franchises you listed for 360 are multiplatform and going to Wii and/or PS3 as well.

There's no way to have a reasonable discussion about this, but if you want to make a thread discussing how awesome the 360 lineup is and how crappy the DS/Wii lineups are, be my guest. It should go nicely with the "every next-gen console has a crappy lineup" thread.

In fact, why don't you go there right now and clear up any misconceptions they may have? I know that the more quiet, refined gentlemen there will appreciate you much more than the usual cast of convicted felons and rawhide bareback rodeo porn stars that populate Media Create threads.

I think a relevant discussion that's being brought up is Halo 3 vs Super Mario Galxy sales.

Halo 3 won't sell a significant amount in Japan, and I think Europe is a wash. Therefore Halo needs to outsell Mario in the US by whatever amount SMG sells in Japan.

I think SMG could easily sell 2 million in Japan and 2.5 million in the US. So Halo 3 needs to sell at the very least 5 million in the US. Which is a tall order when the installed base at the time will be something around 7-8 million.

What do you guys think, are my estimates reasonable?

Well, there are a few ways to phrase what you said.

My, the Xbox 360 certainly does have a metric tonne of games, does it not? It seems peculiar indeed that the Japanese market has not been altogether enthusiastic about the console! I wonder what multitude of sins on Microsoft's part are being punished here? Could it be nationalistic pride, as is so oft the case with highly developed industrialized countries like Japan? Might it be the prodigous size of the console, in comparison to the highly successful Wii? Could it be its prior marketshare, which started it off on the wrong foot? Ah, well, at least it cannot be the library, for the impeccable quality of the large majority of games on Microsoft's second gaming system is undeniable and wonderous to behold! I might even go so far as to challenge the popularly held notion that the PS2 and Nintendo DS have better libraries, so fantastic are the games and franchises coming to the system! It certainly is a pity that Japanese tastes have shifted to the point that the people are not yet ready to accept next-generation high-definition visuals into their collective hearts!

i think it's in the spirit of Everblue 2 (same dev as i recall), which was a scuba diving rpg: town hub for npcs and shopping, and a big ocean for wreck diving and shark avoiding. there was a "sonar" gameplay mechanic that had decreased ping times as you got closer to a goal. make money, upgrade gear, foil the "bad" divers, explore further and deeper afield. never played it.
