This IS going to be the first holiday season with Pokemon for the DS in the west, so I would expect a monster year.

I'm calling 4-5 million in November and December in NA, alone.

Without basing it on a single week's sales as I do with PS2 and DS... Wii is at 2.8 million, PSP is at 5.6 million. Over the last 5 weeks Wii has outsold PSP 2.26:1. If that holds indefinitely, Wii will pass PSP when they're both around 7.8 million, a full 5 million more for Wii. Another year at least.

Interesting. PSP is doing good btw. If some developers wanna not make games for Nintendo's consoles (I'm speaking about Japan now), PSP is the best choice: solid userbase that increase decently and the tendence to accept good "classic" games, i.e. that sells quite well.

But this confirms again the refusement of next-gen.

The hardwrae is selling decently but the software sales aren't as good. They aren't PS3 poor but I don't think they reflect the hardware sales. Anybody know the tie ratio for the PSP in Japan?

And so will the PS3.
Posting lower than GameCube sales numbers? I dunno, man, too soon to say that Sony can recover from a slump like this, since this is the first MAJOR sales catastrophe in the video game division's history.

We could reminisce about the days when a 40,000 unit sales boost was epic and godly. these days a 40,000 unit sales boost with colors etc to DS means it underperformed and had shitty sales.

how times have changed ;)

Not sure how well the Taiko music game will do on DS...Ouendan type numbers?

WII Mario Party 8 (Nintendo) will be first that week and Minna no Golf 5 (SCEI) will be second. Dewy's Adventure: Suishou Dewy no Daibouken!! (Konami) will barely make the top ten while the rest of the top ten will be the usual suspects (Wii play, wii sports, NSMB, some training game, hopefully zelda)

Are you ignoring the gundam wii game? I wonder how it will work out. I can see it beating the golf game. Gundabump and all.

The only problem is that the Wii Gundam game is a FPS perspective, making it a harder seller than the usual Gundam games in japan. :-/

Wow. A Gundam game AND Mario Party 8 in the same week? Along with those other few games, Wii software sales should be quite good, especial with DQS coming out around then, right?

Wait WTF! Dewy's Adventure is coming out THIS MONTH IN JAPAN!!! Holy crap! I thought it wasn't gonna be ready for ages!

Please please please release it in September over in the US Konami, don't release it in August! (If it does Metroid gets priority, sorry Konami :( )

JoshuaJSlone, I was looking at your charts, and I was wondering, if you knew how long it took for the PS2 to reach 10 million consoles WW?

Wel, Kobun made me feel retarded, not to mention the extensive list of games being released on one day.

Software should be interesting, although I do feel bad for GGXX:AC Wii.
