The Media Create number is more reasonable than the Famitsu number considering that Capcom says they only shipped 2 million copies.Cosmonaut X said:Sorry, Chris - I've been up half the night with babies and stuck at work all day so I'm probably a bit slow here. What do you mean about Famitsu?

Sure, that's why I chose to believe the Famitsu number.duckroll said:They didn't say they only shipped 2 million copies though.
slaughterking said:It's...uhm...not exactly interesting but still a little remarkable that the 360 is down from last week when everything else is apparently rising in this time of the year (except for the PS3 which is down from its GT bump). It's like Kinect is not only bombing but also completely irrelevant to the point where they might not even bother to promote it for the holiday season.

Yes, unitl now MH was forcefully exclusive to PSP, because DS couldn't handled it ( still PSP would be the main platform regardless because it where there series exploed ).Laguna said:It will be interesting to see if the MH series will stay exclusively on a Sony handheld in future or not. At least MHP3G will be a PSP exclusive again.

namco decided to make SC 3 ps2 exclusive when SC2 sold best on gamecube.. so yeah.Frillen said:Can someone explain to me why Namco-Bandai never took the success of Tales of Symphonia, outside of Japan, seriously? Yes, I forgot it.duckroll said:Wouldn't Shining Hearts be the next immediate example?

Fularu said:I'm thinking that maybe Namco did the right thing by releasing it first on the Wii and then porting/enhancing it on the PS3. That allowed them to net 500k (Grace PC3 will most likely sell more than 300k units) out of a single game in Japan.
would Tales of Grace sell 500k if it had been released on the PS3 only? I somehow doubt it, I guess Xillia will tell us how a PS3 exclusive Tales could perform.
If it stays in the 300-350k range, then it would definitely be smarter to release a "dumbed down" Wii version first and "enhance it" for PS3 9 months down the road and abuse the double dippers.
If it does 500k+ and there's no overlap between Wii and PS3 buyers... well go PS3 only I guess
PS Scamco, enough with the bullshit, release Tales of Grace in Canada -_-
Ni no Kuni Gets 600,000 Orders
Level-5 sent Ni no Kuni off yesterday night in typical fashion, with a premier event that was attended by celebrities and a few lucky fans.
Famitsu.com, in its coverage of the event, reported that Level-5 CEO Akihiro Hino greeted the crowd by revealing an initial order number of 600,000 units for the game. This is the highest initial order for any new Level-5 property, said Hino.
He added that the staff hopes to build Ni no Kuni into a title that sells one million or two million copies. "We consider Ni no Kuni to be Level-5's next big title to follow Professor Layton and Inazuma Eleven."
The event consisted of a live gameplay demonstration followed by appearances by the primary voice cast as well as child actress Mana Ashida, who appears in the game's commercials. Songstress Mai closed off the evening with a performance of the game's ending theme, Kokoro no Kakera.
You can see pictures from the event at Famitsu.com.
Level-5 also provided a look at some cross promotions for Ni no Kuni.
Ni no Kuni will be seeing special downloads via the various Nintendo Zone services. Tsutaya and McDonalds will both be offering unique Imagine (Imagine are the monsters you collect and raise in the game) starting today. McDonalds will also offer patrons an image gallery featuring artwork from Studio Ghibli. Viewing this will not require the game.
The DS Ni no Kuni is actually one of two Ni no Kunis that hits later today. The other is the previously announced cell phone version, Ni no Kuni Hotroit Stories, which is being released to Level-5's ROID mobile portal as a series of ¥525 chapters.
The first chapter, "Oliver and Mark," is available today and tells the story of Ni no Kuni main character Oliver and his friend Mark. The two live in Hotroit City, a town with a major car industry. They're out to create their own custom car and end up heading to an abandoned factory outside of town in search of parts.
