I suspect that was a joke. You should calm down. How about you stop hating other peoples opinions? Right now there just isn´t any software announced that looks likely to sell 600k units on PSV in Japan, deal with it.

If the icons in the famitsu chart are of any indication it sold between 76% and 100% of its shipments. (If the icons are actually about shipments)
70% sell-through was for the first day of the limited edition SS.
I didnt say it was a problem, i also said that i think it is fine to discuss it =) I was just wondering why the comparison was made and what the intention behind the comparison was. If the only intention was to compare the two titles because they were new IPs, then that is the answer to my question. I'm not up in arms or bothered by it, i was asking because i was honestly wondering about itSo where´s the problem with the comparison then? It´s not like I didn´t explain the reason, But instead of a discussion some other users feel the need to "protect the honor of SS" with some stupid remarks. And yes I think Soul Sacrifice didn´t sell well enough to attract other 3rd party publishers attention with this kind of sales. Like I already said it only did good for itself but failed to have 1st week sales that could rise the interest of other 3rd parties in my opinion, only long legs could change that.
No problem Yeah, it shall be interesting to see. First day sellthrough was reported at 70%. I also noticed that Amazon.co.jp went out of stock a few times (not that this necessarily means too much for the overall situation in Japan though).Thanks. People have mentioned it's been sold out at a few places and I would love to know exactly how well it's selling.
oh shit lol that was sarcasm.

About Soul Sacrifice attracting 3rd party publisher to the Vita, who knows. I guess it depends on what type of games they are looking to release. The Vita hardware sales was boosted quite a bit during the last two weeks at least. But maybe they (3rd party publishers) are waiting a bit longer to see how the Vita will sell, that is possible indeed.
What the bloody hell happened in here? lol
Anyway, where's all the games you announced that were supposed to be released by now Iwata?!
My apologies.
Still, it's available at pretty much every everywhere with no real sellouts. If it has good legs I think it can reach 250k+.
Hadn't the PSP been outselling the Vita for the last few months in Japan? North America doesn't really seem to count since handheld sales overall are pretty dim here anyway.
thank you man.
I got your back next time

You never know in this thread.

How true is this really, though?
I mean, this isn't like the 3DS/ DS situation in the States; PSP just isn't selling any more, and hasn't been for over a year. It's not that there's a problem transitioning PSP buyers to Vita, it's that people aren't buying PSP or Vita in regular big numbers.
I don't remember reading about whether or not it was sold out everywhere. I may have missed it since I wasn't following this thread much., but could you point me to where someone said that?
I tried to say that the PSP was cannibalizing Vita's sales last year, but people were pretty dismissive. It seems pretty clear to me. For a lot of people, there still aren't enough reasons to move on.
Wells, if you check on Amazon you can see that every retailer is selling it online with no shortages. So I'd say that's a pretty good indication.
dat WiiU sub 10K again though, Nintendo panic mode can kick in any day now.

Don't worry, ohlawd, I suspected sarcasm.
It was mainly anecdotal in retail stores from the Soul Sacrifice impressions thread. Lots of people buying it, but some stores still have quite a bit of stock left.

One guy said it was sold out nearly everywhere he is.
I don't think so. They just restocked.
Relevant
Unless Nintendo wants another Ambassador Program on their hands, they need to push public awareness like fucking crazy. I still feel like NOBODY knows what this thing is or what it's about...
Though this is Japan we're talking about, I can't say I'm sure of what the perception may be like there.
That is fair enough. Personally i think it is impressive due to being a new IP, the smaller Vita install base (eventhough this doesnt always mean too much) and that the game got a darker theme, which limits the broader appeal a bit. But thinking it is impressive is subjective though, so i cant argue too much for or against other people's opinion on itI don´t think they are impressive that´s all. This doesn´t mean they are bad per se of course.
It was actually sold out on Amazon.co.jp a few times after the release. It said that a new shipment was coming March 10th, but then it got back in stock earlier, then it went back to saying March 10th again. And right now, the double pack is not in stock in Amazon.co.jp. I dont know how it was in stores in general though.Wells, if you check on Amazon you can see that every retailer is selling it online with no shortages. So I'd say that's a pretty good indication.
Arent they expanding?Maybe nintendo is downsizing their business as a whole?
Obviously I don't live in Japan, but I certainly do not get the impression Nintendo is doing much at all in Japan, at least if you look at their current release list and the lack of any announcements since the January Nintendo Direct.
Maybe nintendo is downsizing their business as a whole?
Well there's Monster Hunter in like a week or whatever. That'll be a thing.
Nintendo's earnings call is going to be April 24th, so I would expect some notable news from them right around there...

Monster Hunter was launch in Japan, it's only coming in a week now in the west.
I assume you mean Dragon Quest?
You have 2 significant releases coming out within 2 days of each other at the end of March, and then zero retail releases scheduled until RE:Revelations at the end of May.
It is just bizarre.
I know what I'm getting myself into, but I must know, what the hell are you talking about?

What do you think the chances of Pikmin hitting April or May being? I don't think it's far-fetched to think that since they have had a media interview spree here in the west.
Well shit. Uhhh.... Game and Wario?
Maybe they'll put Wii Fit U in there somewhere? It sucks for Japan more because they also have very few digital downloads scheduled in the future, while we have 33 announced already.
Well maybe they go the direction of cutting cost by releasing fewer titles. Maybe its not their aim to sell the wiiu to many people but rather to have a small base where they can release one or two titles a year and a few cheap titles in between. That may explain their barren release date since 2010.
I know simple facts must hurt to some Sonyfans like you that want to celebrate mediocre sales (for a highly marketed game)/good sales for Vitas standards instead of having an honest discussion . I wasn´t even the first one to make a comparison with Bravely Default in this thread, also I don´t see any problem with it because both are new IPs and as much as it hurts you it´s just a fact that Soul Sacrifice sold less than the far less marketed Bravely Default.
so VITA sustained its sales momentum.
I dont think nintendo is going to follow sony's strategy for the vita.

Yeah I keep expecting Wii Fit U to be announced for the end of April/first week of May for Golden Week but I would say it is almost too late for that.
I doubt Wii Fit U is going to do much at all to sales. I also think Tomadachi Collection is going to eat everything up during that time period.
Thanks. People have mentioned it's been sold out at a few places and I would love to know exactly how well it's selling.
Didnt wii fit and plus combined sell 5 million? What is a realistic estimation. 5k?
Well vita is doing much much better than wiiu lately so
In the form of price cut.
