Too bad for KH. Definitely looks like only the serious fans are buying, makes sense though considering the continuation and how long the damn things been going for. Thought about getting it myself but resisted partly because of that (the other half was the simultaneous release of 'if I was in a sealed room with...').

And you can't call people "trolls" for wanting to see Vita do poorly, the system has a weak library with an unknown/unannounced future and requires a proprietary memory stick for some games in order to save data. The hardware is good outside of all that and i'll buy one when it's $199 w/memory stick and game , but that's awhile from now so i'm content to watch it whither on the vine.

I thought Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2 squandered a lot of the series' potential, so I didn't care about the spin-offs at all really. KH 3DS not selling well? Meh. KH 3 better be amazing in the year 2018.

SE must have seriously screwed up somewhere with their handling of the KH franchise to be getting these sorts of numbers for a notable new entry on a healthy platform. Makes me feel like by the time KH3 comes out it will find it a lot harder than it otherwise would.

The Vita sales are affecting the PSP sales and Im sure Vice versa. There are a lot of confused gamers that will just get the 3DS if Sony doesn't do anything about their handheld situation.

Except when 3DS did "horrible numbers" it still sold several times better than Vita right now.

Hard to say. It's essentially a spin-off, so comparing it to Poject Diva doesn't really work. I don't think that the Nendoroid style has quite the same appeal to the audience -- IIRC the Nendoroid PSP game didn't exactly set the chart on fire either. Though, that wasn't a Miku game, obviously.

When the 3DS was struggling, Nintendo responded with aggressive price drops, free games and had strong 1st party titles due by the end of the year.

What can Sony do? A $6.4 billion loss makes a price drop difficult and several of their biggest 1st party titles have already been released. It's hard to envision any sort of useful response other than to wait for games in development to arrive.

When Wii dropped below 10K, I was hoping it'd be a wakeup call to Nintendo, but it didn't seem to be. Maybe Sony will be different, though.

man, kingdom hearts sure sold like shit. worse than i think anyone expected. what does that leave for big 3ds games this year? dragon quest, paper mario, and Unseen Mario Title?

i'm not sure vita dropping below 10k means that much when everything (except the 360) took a beating. i know there weren't any bundles for the 3ds this week, but a 50k drop is still really huge.

The PSP is definitely still stealing the Vita's thunder, when you have developers still revealing yet to be released PSP games and no one is announcing anything for the Vita, it's a problem.

I suppose, I just don't see how the system could be down and out so soon. E3 is around the corner, we haven't even gone through a holiday yet with the vita. Most people that I have talked to are surprising excited by the vita and plan to get one over a 3ds.

I'm glad I bought my Vita as much as a PSP machine as a Vita machine, since it looks like Sony is about to take a bath on the device. Going to be awhile before the device becomes relevant, if at all.
