XB1's YTD is 444
It's just expressing support for how its main rival has sold so well.
Fore for 4.
XB1's YTD is 444
lmao.
Hyrule Warriors on 3ds not a good debut. People probably knew that version is bad
Side note to Yakuza Kiwami Asian sales, Chinese version only available on PS4, that mean 200k all PS4 version, not including digital.
I wonder if this gives us better opportunities to experience simultaneous releases of Japanese games translated in Engrish at least.
And shows that the actual Japanese market is increasing less relevant...
Don't worry Yakuza 7 will just feature Kazuma visiting HK and China!
Decline compared to which games in the series?
Was there any PS4 Yakuza bundle this week? and is there any for next week with DQ Builders?

It is gradual though. It doesn't matter so much that they sold more on PS4 rather than the percentage sold. The ratio when PS3 was beating PS4 sales were still way higher than the PS4 ratio now. So the shift is still gradually happening. It's not there yet. More than half the users are still on PS3.
Decline compared to which games in the series?
I dunno about that.
Depends on the game really doesn't it?
MGSV had a much better PS4 to PS3 ratio, back in September.
Because of one game or do we have other examples? And shows that the actual Japanese market is increasing less relevant...

Decline in general. When Kenzan was released on PS3, it saw a sharp decline from Yakuza 2 on PS2, but they rebounded back with Yakuza 3 onwards with a return to the modern setting. With Ishin we saw that same sort of decline, but instead of rebounding with 0, it ended up selling the same despite a higher opening week. Now Kiwani is opening lower than 0 did, and I doubt the legs are going to be any better. So while Kenzan only caused a single year where an entry sold way under 500k, we've seen it for 3 years running now. Lots of pressure on Yakuza 6.
MGSV numbers for 2015 according to Famitsu is 415k vs 226k. More than half the audience is still on PS3.

Not bad
For Media Create, but YSO nailed Famitsu this week.
Wouldn't expect really much for PS4, but there could be a bump for Vita. It has a limited DQ:B edition bundle, right?
There's no way Microsoft bothers itself with Japan yet again come the next Xbox system.
So, short of pulling out, is there anything MS can do at this point with regards to the Japanese market? Or is there no hope?
If you want less anecdotes and more market as a whole. Dengeki regularly publishes platform software shares.I dunno about that.

From here.
We'll get another this week.
I think that "FY" column is trailing-twelve-months or something.
Yes. Not to mention Yakuza 1 received a enhanced port to the PS3 and Wii U as recently as 2012 and 2013 respectively.Another critical point for Kiwami is that it is a remake. Despite the visual overhaul, added features and extra story scenes/content, its still Yakuza 1 in new coating.
A bitdisappointed by PS4 hardware, was hoping it would sell more with Yakuza. Looks like Splatoon, SMM and Minecraft are losing steam
How are they even tracking that 52 Xbox One sales.
So, short of pulling out, is there anything MS can do at this point with regards to the Japanese market? Or is there no hope?
Umm the difference between wii u version vs 3ds version is only 10k. I think it is anything than not a good debut here.
They already didn't bother this time around (unlike last gens).
We already had this discussion before but that's still true 3 weeks before the release : Ikenie to Yuki no Setsuna is the least marketed Square Enix game ever. The website is updated once in a month to show some screenshots and one new character or mechanic (this month was the Materia-like gems system). Otherwise, it has a grand total of two trailers, one for the TGS and one for the Jump Festa. Compared to this, Bravely Default looks like a AAA. It's only coming to retail because basically everything in Japan does, even F2P games like PSO2 or Dragon's Dogma Online.
There was the Jump Festa trailer as well, but I think the core issue is that there's not much game to show off. Then one might ask: why? Even if it's considered a digital-only game (which is receiving a retail release because of the feature of the Japanese video game market), what's the reason of not bothering to advertise it? Perhaps SQEX is thinking the game will sell by itself? That said, the BD comparison is apt in terms of development and such, but I never said it must have sold as much as BD - at the beginning I thought 150-200k would have been a reasonable expectation for the game (which is 100k units shorted of what the original BD sold), in particular if SQEX wanted to start a new series. Of course, reasonable company expectations =/= personal expectations based on buzz and preorders.

Confirm by Producer himself.
All hardware fell, didn't quite expect that given the release schedule on PS4 this week, and WiiU is down in the gutter again, lol.
You could fit everyone who bought an XB1 in Japan last week into a single room.
Nintendo's back to doomed status, Wii U under 10K in Famitsu, likely the following for MC, maybe it can reach a bit less than 2014's numbers, maybe 500K. Splatoon is sliding into the abyss, Mario Maker losing lives, PS4 dropped even with a moderate release, though not a huge deal since there were holiday influences last week.
