Isn't this because MHP3 launched during the holiday season? If so, MH4 is holding pretty well, and may end up seeing a nice holiday bump as well.

That's possible, but the PSP userbase was also more saturated with MH players, so you'd expect shorter legs.

Vita TV might help a little, but at this point I won't be surprised if it doesn't. The device just can't compete against the 3DS and smartphones.

Part of me wants to believe that it never intended to. Heck, Sony admitted to not expecting the smartphone boom when designing the Vita. I don't expect 300K numbers for Vita.

Hoping that the new design and Vita TV will give it some life but at the end of the day, its about games that people want to play.

I recall pre-PSP2k numbers got pretty low too - but that may have been supply restrictions given that Sony was stopping 1k production. Then again people suggested that's what will happen to Oled Vita too...

Will Vita TV be bracketed with the Vita in the numbers or as its own thing? From a software standpoint, it's a Vita, but in terms of intended purpose, it's somewhat different.

Such pitiful numbers outside of 3DS. The problem with the Vita model relaunch is that unlike the PSP-2000 (which signaled a resurgence for the PSP) there doesn't seem to be any compelling software to go with the launch this time. Vita might have to suffer through till God Eater 2.

Wonder if WiiU will see any Wind Waker bump...kinda doubt it.

Yup. Even if it got a MH game it would be a minor bump. Especially with 3DS being the MH machine now. Unless Sony creates a miracle game, the Vita is not going to see a good recovery.
