If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free

Why would you expect more for Chaos Trilogy ? The games have been out Smartphones for years and arent exactly AAA. 10K sounds about right for a quick port on Vita.

But the Vita hardware sales are really bad.

Oooh yeah, only 24k/ week in order to reach 3m before the end of the year.
Roughly 30k week in order to reach 3m before YW2.5.

Anyway, good week for the 3DS and its games.

top 3 games killing as usual. KH 2.5 not selling as well as 1.5 but it's hanging in there. 3DS had a good week. X1 steady dropping. Interesting seeing Pokemon X/Y back on there though.

Chaos Rings III Trilogy sold the "right" amount, I agree with you. Problem is, it has been overshipped, and by a wide margin. Decision on how much to ship is not only retailers' decision; next time SQEX will put out a smartphone porting on PSV, though, they will be more careful in getting so many copies.

Yup. Not sure what decent release could compete with that trifecta, but even still the dip after the first 3 is steep.

also, you guys keep posting that image and i cant read japanese and have no idea what to look for in it. I haven't had my coffee, either, so if it's super obvious then forgive me

Shocking for Wii U. Disappointing for n3DS to be under last year's already poor figure.

Japanese console gaming is dead. Nothing will bring it back now. Long live mobile gaming!

Mario kart 8 almost at 700k. Curious if hardware bundles and/or a edition including all the DLC next year might bring it to a million after all.

Wonder if Chaos and Vita have been hit by the New 3DS?
Certainly the last year and of solid Vita sales correlated with a sharp fall in 3DS sales.

I do think global 3DS poor attach ratio is attributable to a low userbase buying multiple revisions. With no cash being splashed on a revision and a sparse line up, Vita became very attractive to consumers.

PS4/Wii U not doing very exciting numbers as per usual. I do think the Smash launch will be interesting.

the cup represents sales to shipment ratio, filled cup = bad, empty cup = good, in terms of selling what you ship.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
New 3DS (regular one) dropped around 57% compared to last week.
New 3DS XL experienced around 64% WOW drop.
Regular 3DS, instead, just 13%, almost no drop at all.

Remember, it seems new stock for New 3DS came out just at the end of last week, and 3DS XL went out of stock quickly again.

So we have the 3DS models still selling well whereas the Wii U is barely ahead of the PS3. I guess 1 out of 2 (In Japan) is something for Nintendo? :x

Defending the PS4 here, but the only new Japanese games released on it this year are Yakuza spin-off, MGS demo, Compile Heart game, and Natural Doctrine.

There is no reason to buy it this year. Next year will save PS4 (´&#12539;&#969;&#12539;&#65344;)

Blimey WiiU, terrible. And blimey Vita. I'm beginning to wonder whether it will still be up YoY (I don't think Phantasy Star will push hardware much).

These are the weeks mh4 and pokemon launched last year, next few weeks n3ds should sell better compared to last year, if the stock situation improves fast enough

Wut. Last year's Week 42 wasn't disappointing at all, it was the week after Pokémon came out, and it sold around 150,000 units.
