Would it really be that dramatic? Xillia sold nearly as well as Graces + Graces F combined didn't it?
What's your point? Xillia isn't a multiplatform title. If it were, would it automatically have sold more?

Xillia looks like it might as well be an enhanced 3DS port, so number 1 is certainly preferable.
Japan still in holday-mode?Will we be getting the Famitsu Top 10 or MC numbers tonight?
Not sure either way myself.
I'm honestly not sure why Namco would ever bother doing a major effort like ToH on any handheld ever again. They've seen what Tales fans like on portables - ports or remakes of older games and fanservice spinoffs to complement the main entries. Those are cheaper and faster to make, and sell very well. I don't see a good argument for supporting handhelds with a "proper" new Tales game when they can make it on consoles instead and sell a ton more.

I'd like to see a handheld Tales that doesn't release 1 week prior to a Final Fantasy that doesn't bomba.
Depends on the business. Many have returned to work, but others may be off until Monday.

It's probably difficult to come up with a truly correct answer, but which scenario would make Namco more money?
1) Selling 600K+ copies on PS3
or
2) Selling 300K+ copies on 3DS
Bare in mind the cost of development etc.

Stop the presses! A portable Monster Hunter game may have reached the 1M mark this week without a massive price drop!
I still say MH3G reaches 2 million when it's all said and done.
Are we really expecting MH3G to sell 115k? I say 105k max.

Just Japan.Do you mean just in Japan or worldwide(assuming they bring it over to the West)?
Just Japan.
MH4 will probably release next December.
I think it won't sell more than 105k this week, that's what I meant. What do you mean max?
It'll do close to 100K this week.
Are you expecting a massive drop off to basically 0 next?

Sort of off-topic but I was trying to pin down the 3DS's current worldwide LTD.
So that's at least 10.52 million worldwide, but does not take into account sales in "other" since September 2011. Anyone have better numbers for Europe/Australia since then?
- 4.1 million in Japan (via this thread?)
- 4 million in US (via December NPD PR)
- 2.42 million in "other" as of September 2011 (via their FY 2011 results)
I wanted to know since I wanted to compare it to what the DS had sold at Nintendo's E3 2006. There, they said the DS had sold 16 million in 18 months. And that was before NSMB and the DS Lite.
So 10K sends the prediction from impossible to right on the money? If you're predicting 105K than 115K doesn't seem all that crazy or different at all.
Don't we usually get numbers today?MC numbers should be out tomorrow (1/5) afternoon.
Don't we usually get numbers today?
Yeah. Thought so, cvx must be forgetting that it is the 5th in Japan. We do tend to get them late in the morning (10 AM-ish)
I still say MH3G reaches 2 million when it's all said and done.
I don't think that'll happen without a discounted re-release. But if they do one late this year, it could go well beyond 2 million.
it has around 48 weeks till MH4 when it probably comes out the same time as 3G. If it sales 20k on average, it will sell that much. Totally possible I believe
Thread is big and all, but you were warned about this week's unusual schedule: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=33811686#post33811686 =P
This must be the first time in recent years Famitsu didn't give a top10 at Wednesday.
I'm not the one saying it, it was 4Gamer's notice:But I don't know, last year we didn't have any report from 4 Gamer for week 51, instead we had to wait some hours for MC releasing datas. And then, for week 52, we had to wait again.
But this year, we had the 4 gamer datas in time, I think it'll happen again this week.
I mean, I hope
