Level-5 banked so much on DS, I doubt they mind. PSP, PS3 and Wii were afterthoughts, but they really didn't miss much.Nah, I think Hino's going to stick it through. I think Level-5 isn't too pleased they missed the PSP in its prime.
I think it's Capcom. The only thing they have on the publicly known slate is a fighting game port we haven't heard of in months other than the odd mention in the exclusive character reveal trailers.
Ah ok, i see. Although, Capcom did release a video a few weeks back where it says that the exclusive characters (Mega Man 1 and Pacman) are both coming to PS3 and Vita. The Nikkei article talks like the cancelation has already happened.Capcom has never announced when the Vita version will be released.
I asked some fluent mods to take a look and they'll decide what to do with the article, but really if you weren't sure about your translation you shouldn't have posted with such certainty.haha lol - okay, you go ahead and put it back up and go with -you guys- take on what it is and what it's saying and how important it is . Run with it!
hell, one suggestion was that Nintendos stock price was rising because of the article
oh, and remember - this is effectively a source reporting a source who had a Big Publisher source. No one named. <sprks> INDUSTRY SOURCES </sprks>
lol - ironically, i'm giving training today ... in Japanese. I'm going to get boo'ed and pelted with fruit from start to finish aren't I? The ultimate irony would be if the subject matter was related to Nikkei, but alas - not this time.

It could be Capcom, Ono's teased SFXT 3DS before.
What if anything does Namco have planned for Vita? Lukewarm reception to Innocence may have been a catalyst.

Looks like after next week
PSP(2012YTD)+PSV(2012YTD)<PSP(2011 YTD)
Since we are back to that article, who is the author of that piece?
Looks like it's the VP of IDGA Japan, he is no random journalist, I'm sure.
Why was that thread locked exactly?
Is this true? If it was written by the VP of IDGA Japan, this is kind of important.

DCharlie you dun goofed.
DCharlie isn't exactly the most objective commentator,
Are people expecting a hardware bump next week for 3DS due to love+?
I'd say more Love Plus and Theatrhythm combined. And Love Plus bundles. Next week, 3DS will be over 5 millions in a good way, probably.
I dont think that the sales expectations for that game was very high. What if anything does Namco have planned for Vita? Lukewarm reception to Innocence may have been a catalyst.

Personally i dont think that is any of the big publishers that we think of (Bandai Namco, Sega, Konami etc. etc.). And afterall, there is no confirmation on it, so it is kinda just a rumor so far.
What makes you say that? And on what subject(s) do you mean that he isnt objective?Wondered that myself, considering that - no offense intended - DCharlie isn't exactly the most objective commentator, but I didn't see any point in making an issue of it.
What if anything does Namco have planned for Vita? Lukewarm reception to Innocence may have been a catalyst.
Do we ever get numbers on digital sales?
Isnt it easier to cancel a game if it isnt annouced? Or how do you mean?Plus it's hard to cancel and move a game when you don't have much of note announced to begin with.
Someone suggested the canceled game could be SFvT for Vita? That would be pretty shady after the footage and features they've been showing.

Also, I doubt the 3DS can handle big open world games... Vita has Gravity Daze right now, and the world is huge in that.
Surprised by Gravity Daze - both by the numbers it sold and by how it failed to shift hardware.
I'm heading up to my local store shortly to pick up Theatrhythm. I will try and get some information on how New Love Plus etc. did.
Pretty sure the 3DS would cope fine with Morrowind.
Hmmm. On which note, this needs to happen.
gravity daze did really well. it's weird that it didn't keep vita's sales at least steady.
What makes you say that? And on what subject(s) do you mean that he isnt objective?

well who wouldn't be excited to see two high-priced, ill-prepared handhelds launching against each other? Why oh why did Sony launch late? Imagine the difference in sales had the Vita launched alongside the 3DS. Again, I wish I could look into the multi-verse and see what would have happened.
In a story that went up on Nikkei's website today, written by Kiyoshi Shin, the head of Japan's IGDA branch, an unnamed source from the Japanese game industry says that "Major Japanese companies are canceling all projects intended for the Vita and are changing development to the 3DS."
"I did not see that quote, but you see extremist quotes like that all the time," says Rohde, who spoke to Gamasutra about the incipient launch of the Vita in North America.
"I mean, obviously, there is no way anyone could stand in front of a camera and say that all developers are changing focus from one platform to another, no matter what it is."
Rohde went on to say that his guess is that it's "largely exaggerated. I know many, many, many third party developers and publishers are feverishly working on Vita titles, not just for now, but for the foreseeable future."
It might not be literally true, but does it hint at a real trend? "No, I absolutely haven't heard," says Rohde.
lol, I don't think any other response would be possible at this point.
E3 is going to be fun times. Sony better come out guns blazing. I also hope nintendo doesn't grow complacent, even if they do have Pokemon, the best selling portable video game franchise of all time.
I'll say this: If it was just an opinion piece, or a mistranslation, Sony wouldn't have a reason to comment. At all. They did, though. And in a way that doesn't even really refute the original article. That's kinda worrisome. Is Vita losing developer support already? Sony responds
EDIT: There's more in the full article by the way

Handhelds are basically irrelevant and the Vita isn't even launched yet (again, worldwide here). Sure the Wii might not receive every third party multiplatform title, but are you really doubting that it won't get the majority? Add to the fact that Nintendo is aggressively courting third parties, they need it for the Wii-U, while Sony seems fine to let their new consoles dangle in the wind. You say this, but how many major Western PS360 releases for late 2012 can you name that have a Vita SKU confirmed?
Gust's still selfpublishing as far as I'm aware, like Namco Bandai and D3.Wouldn't Gust's game be technically Tecmo Koei now?
