K, time to have extremely low expectations for Sony's press conference. That way, if they do announce anything, it will be unexpected and awesome.

I guess WWS or SCEE studios had a final run through of what might be shown next week and they decided not to show MM's game. Hence how they would know about other stuff slated for E3 etc.

Maybe 'soon' is Gamescom. Hope so.

I think it's interesting they chose to tweet this though. They've never given that kind of notice before a show before, I don't think. I guess they know there was a bit of expectation that we might properly see their project at E3.

Gamescom definitely seems like a better outlet for the unveiling of their new game, I think they'd get lost in all the noise at E3. LBP was unveiled at GDC IIRC.

LBP was announced at GDC, LBP2 was announced on a random day in May and Tearaway was at gamescom.

Hmm, I guess I was remembering wrong then but Sony saving MM's game announcement for Gamescom always seemed more likely to me. I can't remember MM having a big presence at E3 other than the LBP 2 demo.

Yeah, I'd hesitate to leap to the conclusion that MM isn't showing something because they can't show something - because they are behind in development or whatever.

This may just as easily be the case that Sony wants to hold this card for later in the year. Sony's made a point of holding announcements for Gamescom the last couple of years, for example, announcements that could probably just has easily have been made at E3 if they wanted to put everything out in one go.

Considering there are 42 people in total in MM, the "main team" has around 28 people (since Tearaway had 14 working on it), so I think they are alright time-wise.

Doesn't the PS4 controller have a touch pad on it?

The difference of touch screen and touch pad in the game is essential. The touch pad being in the back is important in making you relate to the world. And that's not even touching on the topic of the camera, vital to the impact the story has to offer.

Really, this game has to be experienced on a Vita. Porting it would be like playing Elite Beat Agents with buttons.

Have you played Tearaway? It would not work on the PS4. The gameplay in many areas centers around use of the touch screen, touch pad, both cameras, and sometimes more than one of these at the same time.
