Megaman X collector Edition (?) + comment on the first

More of less done playing through my Megaman CE On the GC - I quite enjoyed the game and I do think MM2 is probably the best one. All of them were a tad hokey in retrospective and the enemy design just got regurgitated again and again - I guess you'll need to do xth Wind/Air/Fire/Flame/Burn man.... The control swap actually didn't get to me after awhile and I wondered what all the whinging about the GC version was about.

Best Boss? Um... I would say Quickman. I like how they implemented his counter attack power. Different to say the least. I must say that I'm partial to MM2 cause i spent ages playing this when I was a kid

about the 2 extra games (past Megman 8) - talk about Hokey credit swallowing crud.

Interview (on GC version) - I really enjoyed watching that G4TV episode and I was wondering if we'd be able to get G4TV in Australia. That said.. I didn't know it was Keiji Inafune who designed MM. Talk about.. wow! Impressed.

Navi mode / music/ I guess you don't know what you're missing if you don't have the PS2 version so.. what you don't know won't hurt you.

So.. seeing how the CE sold (which I think is pretty good; they're releasing the xbox version no?)... what are the chances of Capcom releasing Megamn Man X CE? I really missed finding the powerup suit pods in Megaman X and its relatively cooler design/look. I also only played X1 + 2 and they're up to 8 now aren't they. Even a bare bones 1-6x release would be great!

Feel free to mention favourite bosses... etc

* playing through Megaman Zero 3 now... skipped 1+2 cause I couldn't find the carts @ retail. What is up with Bluebomber

I really wanted to like the Mega Man X series... but I just didn't. I don't know why. I actually kind of enjoyed the first one, but then I just couldn't get into them anymore.

The original Mega Man series is one thing-- because I have a soft spot for it due to NEStalgia-- but I'm just indifferent about the Mega Man X games.

That being said, if Capcom did decide to release a Mega Man X collection (for the same MSRP as their Mega Man Collection), I'd certainly be interested... if only to give the series another chance.

I'd buy the MMX collection in a heartbeat. (I'm a Megaman whore. I already own most of the games anyway)

I just hope APE doesn't do it because they suck monkey balls and MMX2 requires special chip programming. (They could use the Saturn, PSX or PC version of MMX3 if they needed to)
Speaking of which, any word if MMCEGBA was delayed to include eXtreme 1 + 2?

If they do a Megaman X collection, it would be nice of them to just include the first 5 games in the series.

6 is fine. It's a bit difficult with collecting the damn people, but otherwise it is a fine game.
4 is easily my favorite one.

I don't think "collecting the damn people" is the main complaint with X6.

In Mega Man X when Zero bails out X in the opening level, the music playing is fucking Godly.

The whole opening level song is Godly. One of my favorite Videogame songs Period.

sadly.. I don't remember the X games much anymore. I liked them when I played them though. Now Capcom. milk this. :)

Oddly, I always liked Megaman X 1-3 the best. The X series after that never felt right at all; just not the same games anymore.

My all time fave MM games are MMX 1, 2, 3, and MM 7.

X4 was fun because of Zero. X3 felt and played like a worthless rehash... even most of its soundtrack is based on the same crappy guitar riff. Of course, I might've forgiven that if it didn't resort to being cheap-hard and having upgrades be mandatory to completion.

Remember the gold armor in X3? I lost a night of sleep to get that.

I think there was a way to get Zero's sword in that game too, but I don't think I ever managed to do it...

[EDIT] - Oh! Oh! And the Hadouken and Shoryuken in X1 and X2 respectively! :D

MMX 4 was easily my fav followed by X2. If they did ever make a collection disc, I'd also buy it in a heartbeat

In MMX2, when you fight Zero, the music is the best track ever. At least for Mega Man X. I think it's called 'Hunter vs. Hunter.'

the Megaman Zero series is a continuation at least a century, maybe more, beyond the end of the X storyline.
X isn't evil, but the rule he has over the world seems to have gotten a little extreme.

I don't really know the plot of the first one since I imported it (I don't know why, but I thought Capcom wouldn't bring this game out since it sounded way different from the Megaman games... you'd think I would have realized they'll put out anything Megaman here). I really think you'd like Zero 1 and 2 if you like Zero 3, though. I find the series as a whole is a lot harder than most other games out there today, but like the regular X games, once you get a few upgrades things get a lot easier.

MMZ1 story
He's evil damnit, sortof. That cute chick you work alongside decided to resurrect him and he became hell bent on cleansing the world of ALL robots. He's the final boss, too. A real bitch, but I found him easy. Of course, the little spark that gives you your Z-Sabre and helps you out elsewhere is the TRUE X.
