Messi leaves Barcelona

He's playing in a Barcelona team that's a bit of a mess. But he's still performing at an elite level. I don't get how you can look at those stats and think that's not a decisive player. I think comparing players is a difficult thing to do and is often pretty subjective based on whatever criteria you want to use. But if your argument is that you think Lionel Messi isn't that great then you're just objectively wrong.
It’s quite easy, I’m a Real and Benzema fan and a bit of a troll ;)
But then again good stat sheet doesn’t mean decisive and he is not anymore. He’s not performing at an elite level neither. Nowdays he might put 3 in and give 4 assist a match against middle of the road teams, but against a good team in C1 he’ll sadly be nowhere to be found. And he’ll never be, in any other team, as good as he was with Barca which was a team specifically built around him from the beginning of his carreer.

The stink of that logic is the reason i feel superior to a big slice of football fans
Nevermind Hawking Radiation Hawking Radiation ’s argument (at least he has one), the reason you feel superior to a lot of people (not just football fans don’t pull my leg), might be more because you’re a tremendous douche 😂
(At least you sound like one with that kind of comment…)

If I was quoting a single stat then yeh maybe it might not mean he's decisive because there could be other areas he is deficient in. But he's at the elite level for basically every meaningful individual metric you could judge him on.

Also, that Barcelona squad was maybe the best ever. So yeh, no shit he might not do as well as that again. I'm also not saying he's still at his absolute peak as an individual. But saying he is now average was ridiculous.

He’s individually a genius footballer, but that doesn’t translate anymore in the team output.
He’s nowhere to be found in C1 when his team needs him and has been for quite some time.
Anyway I’m interested to see how he’ll fare in Paris, but I don’t think he’ll help them win C1. I hope he proves me wrong though.

Even as a neutral, this is just gross to see unfold.

Ramos standing up for Messi is going to be quite the sight to behold.

This is the best thing to happen to futbol in years and the man of all men is at the center.

Wishing him a glorious finish to his career.

Barcelona are a pathetic, entitled club, and have been run quite horribly for years now. So to me, watching their supporters whine & rage about this development is... pretty great.

Hope PSG knocks them out of the CL in another 7-0 aggregate.

Soccer has always been silly. I don't understand the fascination with it.
Yeah, I guess the nonstop flow of play in football and fluid transitions between offense and defense must be very confusing
for people who are only used to watch 15 seconds long bursts of action interrupted by 2 minute breaks each,
giving the exhausted players time to catch breath after every 25 yard run and to warm their cold hands with electronic heaters.

There are better leagues like Italian or German or the Premier ( the best one) but PSG as a team easily competes on any of those leagues. French league will be just for training, so I expect Messi will behave great on it...since relies on friendship PSG is the best option for him...its a win win situation.

Barcelona will have hard years ahead, worse than the lost of Messi is its debt...also La Liga española is broken ...only few teams has money and they will sell their "soul" to CVC in order to get 2700 millions of EUR to save them.

Embarrassing to see this from journalists.

And next to Messi is a minister for a government that uses slave labour and bans homosexuality.
