Man Final Fantasy Union is a fucking fantastic Youtube channel, been digging through their stuff since Remake came out.
Very nice production, incredibly well researched and explained and the guy's voice isn't annoying. A lot of it sounds like typical YT video essay garbage (7 crazy things you didn't know about FF7!), but they've all been well worth my time so far, learned a lot I didn't know.
I just noticed today that he's going full time with the channel and you can pay to support it now, it's like 1.99 a month or something? Considering this tbh, the guy does great work and I've watched more of his content in the past few months than anything professional propaganda pushers have on hand. Not affiliated with this at all lol, just think we should support good work.

I've always wanted to want to play Final Fantasy.
Played 13 when it came out for like 20 hours and stopped.
Played 9 for a bit but it was super slow so I stopped.
I just started 12 and I'm still really liking it at 8 hours in. Hope I stick to it.
I have a hard time with JRPGs for some reason.

I like them both but 9 is a bit overrated imo. 13 is more fun than it got credit for at the time but it is a weird ass FF game, I also did the 20-30 hour intro section and then gave up once I hit the "open world". I'd like to see it through someday though.

How can someone not like IX ? From the moment you open the main menu, that music hooks you in. There is something about IX, that I never get tired of replaying it. It's my favourite. In my opinion VII and X are overrated.

Honestly I got bored of VIII if you ask me. Someday I will replay it and finish it, probably. Also, IX's intro is way better than VIII's intro. Theives stealing a princess(and very well executed) vs shitty high school drama.

Best part of FF (and most JRPGs) is the music. In some cases I've listened to a particular FF's ost during work or during a drive for more total hours than I've played the game itself.
