I came in here to question why none of you ever forced me to sit down and play a Far Cry before, and that it's awesome, but I see we have puppies. Proceed.
Once you've played one, you've basically played them all. And I find that it gets very repetitive and formulaic by the time you reach the halfway point. Never been able to finish one as a result.

Cringe. I platinumed 3 and 4. Onto 5!
I platinum’d Primal and I’m only missing the platinum on 4 because of the 2 co-op trophies. 5 I didn’t even finish because of the nonstop enemy bombardment ... you never get a moment’s rest.

I linked up with some fam online for the coop ones. I hear 5 has a lot of enemies. I hope it's not as bad as 2 was.

5 is what I'm playing. Same. It reminds me, a little over exaggerated, and with a deadly cult, lol, of where I grew up, so I'm connecting with it a lot more than most open world games.

I didn't realize how under-done rural America was in games until this.

Tried 3 once, felt super gamey, didn't sink it's hooks in for me, too typical Ubi gameplay loop stuff. I was jonsing for stealth bow action when 5 came out, and the rural American setting plus taking down the man bun sporting cult leader was appealing. It delivered that one time but yeah, it does feel like after 2 they started to churn it out.

Even as a newbie it's a lot. It's such a beautiful looking game that I kind of want to just relax and do smaller, more peaceful things.

It's just not that type of game, though. It's pretty much Halo's level of combat, if it were open world. But it's super fun if you're in the mood for that, and it does make sense and match the story's sense of being in way, way over your head, and fighting for a way out, really well.
