I really hope they don't cancel MGO. You would assume that we get a little more footage near the games release...

I don't think it will get canceled. What we've seen thus far looked good. But it is somewhat worrying that we've only seen so little. They pretty much only give updates on twitter about the project. I would have liked a beta like they did with MGO 2, to name one thing.

They're still advertising MGO items as day one edition extra content, no? I wouldn't worry about that.

I'm more worried about future support for it.

They showed 4 minutes or so out of MGO, but like 3 or 4 hours of the main game, that is a bit worrying to me.

The only thing i dislike about Amazon. They don't charge me for the item when i preorder it until it releases. So annoying. I like to be charge when i pre order.

Yeah but it means if the price goes down between when you order and when it gets released you will automatically get charged the cheapest price when they ship it out, instead of whatever the price was when you pre-ordered.

Are they closing the LA office?

I have not heard anything on this. But i know a lot of artists that moved on to other studios soon after the whole Kojima leaving fiasco.

I am pretty sure i have been charged from amazon, to get a refund later on my bank account on adjustments they made to the price of the item a little later.

I just watched the first bit of the launch trailer, til 2:30 (stopped when the MGSV footage was shown). I want to watch the rest, but I'm scared of spoilers though...

I doubt it's cancelled. They delayed it, which 100% confirms it's not cancelled.
Will it be supported for more than 2 months though... that's another story.

I definitely prefer that countdown to this one:

Hey guize do you mind voting in this poll for me?
Should I watch the launch trailer poll: http://strawpoll.me/5323325
I've watched every trailer except this one.
:^)

If you've already watched all the other trailers, I say watch it. Having watched all other trailers the spoilers aren't that bad. I only suggest people avoid it if they haven't watched any media.

This, I'm very worried about the longevity and overall support for MGO. But I'm pretty sure that for at least a certain amount of time we'll be able to enjoy MGO.

It being delayed is not a confirmation that it's not cancelled.

Promising things like an XP boost for MGO in the Day One Edition, and a REX helmet in the Collector's Edition, mean that MGO releasing is a likely thing.

I don't expect it to be a fully fledged experience, or even release this year on consoles, though.

This will be my first launch for a metal gear game I have ever had the privilege of being excited for. I hadn't played any of the games all the way through until February of the year. My first Metal gear solid game that I plated was MGS 3 Snake Eater on the 3ds. I was traveling at the time so I didn't have the ability to play it on the PS3 (and until recently I didn't own a ps3) so I bought it for 20 bucks on the Nintendo eshop. If I could sum up my experience in one word it would be...beautiful. I have never played a game like MGS3. This game had me glued to the screen and I was continually anticipating the next part one after another until the last cut scene. The dynamic of the story to the whole game was emotional had true feeling. After I finished 3, I knew I needed to play them all. I immediately bought a ps3 and got every copy on it from 1 to PW. I spent my entire summer immersed in this game series of amazing twists, turns and most importantly real emotion. This game series has become one of my favorites over every other game series I have ever played.

Hideo Kojima has a gift and captivating his fans in this amazing story of his games. I have never played a game series like this one, and sadly with MGSV:TPP being his last one I probably never will be able to again. But I wanted to share this with this community. I Even though I wasn't there from the beginning, I'm glad to be here for Hideo Kojima's master piece of a send off to an amazing game series that has been there for all of you since some of your childhood's. It's and end of an era, but it will never be forgotten.

Sorry for the long post. Thanks for reading.

Ah, okay. I imagine they'll be hiring more on though, right? If not, that could be a sign management are preparing for shut down in the future, maybe?

I know nothing about the games industry :D

I've told my friend that if he can pick me a copy tomorrow to get one. so i buying a PS4 copy just to play it a few days early.
My main copy is the PC version and i plan on using a VPN to unlock it (just in case i need to) and won't be touching the PS4 one afterwards.

EDIT: should i tell him i changed my mind. ?

I'm just glad you made it JUST in time to join our hype train. You're a comrade to me, damn it. Stick around, one of the coolest thing about MGS fans is that the fire doesn't dim over time. It just gets bright and brighter and brighter until your friends in real life hate you and we just have each other because every conversation spirals into MGS speculation.

did i say coolest?

I have the PS4 version ordered for the collectors edition and will use that copy to play with friends but my main version i will play for the full story run will be on PC.

If its only to play early then i don't think i would bother.

Thanks for voting in the poll guys.
:( I'm in the same boat.
Most people on my poll say to watch it. Join me, BROTHER
Imo it raises more questions than it answers
Sweet. Like pretty much all the trailers for me imo.

BROTHER. Welcome. I got into MGS not too long ago too. 2012 i think. I needed a game for my newly-purchased PS Vita, and most of the games didn't interest me, so I decided to get MGS HD. My life changed forever after that :^)
MGS is now my favorite series. Man, something about this series... SO GOOD

No idea. Depends what they want to do next. I mean... Konami is restructuring, so who knows what that means for the game side of their company.
