That intel operative is a bit too time conscious. First he keeps us waiting and then says we took so long. :p
Jamais Vu wasn't that hard right after you get the hang of it? People aren't a fan of it for some reason lol.

That's literally the same experience I had with Anti Air emplacements. The guards were a bit too erratic and kept ruining the S-rank when you go from the other opening, through the cage fence.

The enemy movement was pretty erratic in Anti Air. The real lightbulb moment for me was realizing there's more than one way to destroy an Anti-Air gun! I'm so used to having very specific parameters set in how to tackle objectives like this that it took me a while to just start experimenting out of frustration. It's amazing how many ways there are to tackle just one objective in one facility.

Just another reason I'm very excited for MGSV!

Let's change the topic to something else peeps. Go back to discussing unlock times and whatnot.

You just summed up why TPP will be so much more than the previous MGS games. There are so many more options and so many different ways that everyone can form their own playstyle. It's one of the few Open world games out there that'll actually offer real freedom + synergy with multiple ways instead of simply putting waypoints and guiding your hand through it.

Stephanie was really adamant saying about avoiding spoilers. so it didn't make sense she would drop one without her not knowing. specially since she said she knows everything lol.

lol you guys are seriously on edge, all I did was tell you all how POTENTIALLY awesome the thing that Kojima said was awsome might be awesome. Are you still following? What I said is about as spoilery as saying Solid Snake is a legend. Chill out.

Realizing I could shoot the barrels to take out the emplacements was a major game changer on Normal. On my successful S-rank attempt, I used a rocket from the GZ start point on the last emplacement. I knew there was an enemy wandering around, but I couldn't see him. I literally just shot my rocket and hoped he was moved away at the moment (and that the hit box for the truck in front of it was accurate).

This is what I'm so excited for. MGS blew my mind with options, and each game has just gone further and further with it.

Lol really, how can a spoiler be a spoiler if nobody knows whether the think that could be a spoiler is a spoiler or not. I didn't even tell you what the said thing was, I was just saying how awesome it is. Is that a spoiler? If so, are the people in the spoiler free impressions thread posting spoilers by saying how awesome the game is?

How do you un-tell something? You can't. You can't put words back in your mouth. What you can do is spread fake spoilers so that people think that everything that's been said is untrue.

Damn the spoiler thread reached a million views. People sure are thirsty.

Which is sad in a way. If you didn't have any contact with other people excited about the game then chances are the people you run into are really trying to learn all they can before the game comes out.

You have to think about it in another light. Sure it sucks for those wanting all the information to be fresh on the day the game comes out, but a million hits is quite a lot.

There's millions of people out there who feel like video games and their culture should be nothing but elementary and if it isn't it's deemed whatever negative opinion they can think of (eg: stupid, childish, boring, etc. etc.)

Society becomes very predictable or at least game culture does at times.

It's a product that anyone can buy, but not everyone enjoys. Some people feel like they are more entitled than others due to the massive amounts of information available and because the field of communication is so large. If someone wants to ruin a piece of media for themselves and go straight to the end then they have that ability to do so.

I just realize that books have a beginning, middle, and an end, songs start from the beginning, movies play from start to finish, and you start eating a meal one bite at a time.

Someone can always jump a head if they want, but if you're trying to capture something to enjoy it; chances are you aren't going to just take it all in at once.

We have the right as human beings to either be that person or not. It isn't up to someone else to dictate what, how, and when we should.

I just threw my coffee mate, didn't know your face was in the way.
J/k. :p

You can edit posts so future posters won't see something.

Also let's change the topic already guys, jeez. Something happened. It was expected with just two days left. Let's keep cool till 9/1.

Well, it at least puts me at ease to know that there might be some truth in Kojima's statement on that.

As a heads up to anyone on Steam: Mark your privacy settings so only friend's can leave comments on your profiles. I just had some random account leave a spoiler as a comment. Ugh.

PS4 preload is live.

Should I go physical or download it right now? Haven't pre-ordered or anything.

What country are you in? I am in US east coast but Im not at home to check my preload.

Wether you do digital or physical is strictly preference IMO. What I did was preorder the CE the minute it was available, then later i preordered the digital PSN version when it was available. Since I dont plan on opening the CE (not reselling it! just going on my shelf), I got the digital version. Also the other obvious added benefit is preloading and I dont have to wait in line at midnight at a Gamestop. haha.

But like I said, YMMV.

**EDIT: Actually, I lie. I may open the CE after I beat the game so I can watch the BTS blu ray. lol

It depends. I have both the physical and digital. You get a nice static theme and the bonuses if you go digital. I have the physical edition being shipped and it might not make it on release.

Do you want bonus material or just the game? If you just want the game then digital might be the way to go. GameStop won't try and get that used copy from you. Having a physical copy also gives you a real copy too, so there's that as well.

Hey dudes. I just finished MGS1 and I'm planning on playing the whole series so I have a question... Is this like Kingdom Hearts where every game matters? Even if it's a side game? So I should play, say MG Acid and Peace Walker?

U.S. west coast here. I like my copies physical, but I cannot wait an additional 8 hours to play (and give GameStop my money)

I guess I'll go digital.

Games that matter are the Kojima games. Peace Walker is a special case because it's the only non-numbered game that matters, and that's only because Konami refused to market Metal Gear Solid 5 as a PSP title as originally intended.

All Kojima-made games matter as far as Canon is considered. So no Acid but Peace Walker does. But that don't mean that you shouldn't play the side games. Play all of 'em if you can.

games that matter are mg 1+2 (though better read the plot, gameplay is very outdated by today's standards) mgs 1-4 and peace Walker. all others are alternative realities and not canon

You'll enjoy the theme. There isn't any specific music for the theme, but you can mute anything you like in the settings. I'm not quite sure if you get the static theme after release.

Pre-loading has begun here and it's after 12 PM Central USA.

I love the theme. I've had it for a month now and it has cool sound effects from GZ.

my biggest fear right now is if the game supports steam family sharing. my gf owns the game because of Nvidia promo , but want the achievements etc on my account.

so far it doesn't show up but it's not unlocked yet. let's just hope for the best.
