I don't think the PC version needs the update, the ability to upload the save data has been on the PC version since launch.
Also with all the confusing about the Steam launch, and the time still counting down to 10am PST on the 1st instead of Midnight EST, I'm half expecting it not to get fixed and the launch to stay at the 10am PST / 1pm EST launch.
Oh wait! That's right, nevermind!
Are you fucking kidding me? I pre-purchased, I should be able to play midnight Tuesday morning.

Thats the current quote from Konami (12am EST release) but you know I'm not putting much stock in their quoted release times until the game is downloading.
In that case I can download at 11pm on Monday night if that still is the case. I pre-purchased, I should be able to play at midnight, dammit!
Most interesting part is TPP app on Steam hasn't been updated in 6 days according to SteamDB. If that's the case, and the game is done and ready for launch -- there's absolutely no reason there couldn't have been a preload aside from Konami being completely silly (Or some kind of pre-load deal with Sony/Microsoft. Which sounds sillier.)

I think it was out of fear that someone could somehow hack the encrypted files from the preload even though Steam pre-loaded encryption files are like Fort Knox.
Yeah, which is laughable because the 360/PS3 versions that have been leaked for days now have been datamined to hell and back. Combine that with the PC physical version just including the CD Key and Steam installer and all Konami has managed to accomplish is pissing off people who are stuck with super slow internet.

Day 1 Patch + GZ Save import enabled. PS4 GZ got the patch to upload save data.

ooooh... here i thought i was being smart and it would let me play the game already.
I mean, my internet at my apartment is actually pretty good and I can be playing by midnight if all goes well, but damn. I really would've loved a pre-load option. However, I'd rather take a same day release with no preload option than a 2 week delay with pre-load.

This so much. I'm actually fortunate that with my internet it's actually quicker for me to download than preload because of how long it takes to decrypt / unpack large files. I can download 30GB in about 30-40 minutes. It took that long to unpack the preload files for Arkham Knight but I feel for people who are stuck with slower internet, as mine wasn't all that until I moved about 5 years ago.

I've been spending today off and on replaying everything but the main mission in Ground Zeroes, extracting all the people who transfer over (again!) just to make sure I didn't miss anyone. Only have the Anti-Air mission to complete, then I'll do the main mission tomorrow while TPP is downloading.

I spoke of this already, and this confirmed it, If konami wanted to get preload set for PC they had a week to do so... now assuming it would only need a flip of a switch but honestly why would it be that easy... then likely take them 3-4 days to even get it ready maybe, then steam would have to (valve to go in and update etc... involving perhaps 1 or 2 days of preloading.
Would it be worth the trouble? only Konami can tell, and from what I hear of rumors of how internally messy they are. I am not surprised no preload is set up.
I think perhaps their day1 patch was more important to them than getting PC preloading features. you never know.
so preload was just not meant to be, best to not think of it because of spite(hate) of PC its likely other factors that caused this... specially since the word is the team forgoed their vacation to get pc release tomorrow midnight.
Enabling pre-load is as simple as emailing/contacting Valve and having them change the release state of the game to PreloadOnly. Seriously.
So many PC OuterGAF players. Hold tight brothers, we'll get our 4K and custom helicopter music soon.
No 4k for me, not on a single 970 and my ancient CPU.
The game hasn't been updated on the Steam DB in about a week, so it's basically has the GM build on the servers just waiting for the 9/1 release.

Have sources of this?, have you released games on steam?, I figure you'd have to set up a separate download file for pre-load, and then make a activation download for when unlocked. this may take time to do all this specially with how hectic it can be near release (day1 patch, DLC etc)
if you have sources please do share its all assumptions on my end.

Nope. Neither Rising or GZ had a preload option.

The only sources I have are comments from JaseC, but he's kinda considered the unofficial-official source of Steam stuff, but considering how often pre-loads are done even for minor games, I can't imagine he's incorrect.
Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 and Rising have had pre-loads. GZ didn't get a pre-load, but it released the same time it was available on the steam store.
Really? Interesting. I was told earlier that Rising did have one when I mentioned that Lords of Shadow 2 was the only Konami game that had a pre-load.

That's odd, I was going to say that Konami just doesn't do Pre-loads on PC but there's LOS2. Maybe MercurySteam somehow coerced Konami into there being one(?).
I'm guessing that KojiPro weren't able to convince Konami to put up the pre-load. It's a shame but nothing shocking given how things are at Konami. I feel bad for the devs and the community people have to to put up with all of this.

Seriously how was that post bragging? It seems to me like your salty as fuck that people have the game before you. Multiple people have posted in here that they have the game, so why choose to attack me with pointless posts? To me this feels like a personal attack against me for no apparent reason other than a couple of others THOUGHT I posted spoilers when in reality I didn't and never would.
You blatantly quoted the first post as a reason to attack me and when I called you out on it you quoted a different post which still wasn't bragging, I was explaining why I thought the reviewers got their shit mixed up about the story. What about that is hard to understand? What about that is bragging? Why would I come in here and "brag" to everyone that I have the game?

I'd Christmas Eve Eve. East coast I won't be playing until Tuesday. Start loading at midnight, wake up a little early for work and make sure installation goes smooth, MAYBE check out the start menu and options, but then I have to go to work.
Playtime will be Tuesday afternoon.
