Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes PC specs released

I was thinking more in terms of architecture and performance differences. Like with the 750 and 750 Ti, while being in the same "range" as the 650 was beforehand, are both Maxwell cards and a massive leap over that card. Also, skipping numbering so as not to confuse people with rebranded laptop cards.

It's not quite as bad as the whole 9/8800 GT/S/X classification system was back in the day, I guess.

I guess there's a leap because Kepler had two phases. The GK104 chips (660Ti, 670/760, 680/770) and the GK110 chips (780/780Ti/Titan). And Maxwell is in the latter league.

Am I blind? Or not seeing VRAM requirements?

I'd assume stock, ie:

Minimum: gtx650 - 1GB vram
Recommended: GTX760 - 2GB vram

That seems believable judging from the textures used in both GZ and PP. They are often very simple, flat or low resolution. The lighting is what makes them look great imo

Can't wait to see how it looks. Already looked good on the consoles so it should look outstanding when some PC players get a hold of it.

Popsicle (Robert, KojiPro LA Community Manager) stated that TPP requirements will be posted at a later date.

Does this mean that the requirements will be higher? Popsicle said that he can't say.

...or the game just isn't finished, so it's impossible for the developers to judge.

I wouldn't imagine that the required specs between the two would be massively different, if at all. I suppose there's the possibility of some additional PC-specific options like higher resolution textures that might drive up requirements, but even then, there'll likely be an option to choose lower settings to keep performance smooth. I personally wouldn't worry about it.

i don't expect the required specs to budge, but the minimum specs may rise.

MGO3 on PC.

MGO2 was easily my most played game on the PS3.

In that case, that would be great.
if you're looking to max it out though, be aware some more nvidia graphics tech might be implemented for tpp. could get away with the required 760 though but at this point i'm just guessing.

i really hope we get to see the game before release. as nice as it would be to see the pc version for the first time with my own eyes, i want to see the improvements

This is gonna be a while, but in the laptop thread, I have been recommended to wait till a certain laptop model gets updated with the GTX960. As Nvidia hasn't released the desktop and laptop cards yet, it's gonna be quite a wait.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to run it on high settings and 1080p/locked 60fps, though - I am hoping it'll be possible.

I hope so too, even for GZ. I also hope the game is easily moddable, since that would really help me i.e. DS4 button prompts, etc.

Hopefully my pc can run it smoothly. Even though it beats the recommended requirements by just a little bit, I anticipate some struggle (before a game patch and nvidia driver update makes things more stable). I rarely ever play games on full resolution and graphics detail (eg: Ultra on Battlefield 3 makes my eyes water unintentionally so I downgrade it to medium).

Metal Gear Solid's Facebook page responded to a comment I made regarding a potential Ground Zeroes PC unveiling with the following:

"We'll hopefully have more to show of the game prior to launch running in native settings on PC. No details as to what or when yet, though."

So, get hype! Maybe?

Nice, will keep an eye out

They showed footage in Japan on Sunday.
Still no video footage uploaded anywhere.
Konami please I can't deal with this anymore.

man I hope my GTX580 can keep itself from frying completely long enough for me to experience some of this on my PC.

Does anyone know if EVGA will still honor their lifetime warranty on their old cards?

It seems like the new ones don't have that warranty anymore.

Yeah bro i have the same graphics card. *fingers crossed*

I mean it's artifacting like a motherfucker at times but then it'll be fine but then my frame rate will take a shit, and then everything will be fine and dandy.

I've checked and everything seems stable, but my GPU is giving me signs of imminent death.

I just hope EVGA will honor replacing it, and if they can't replace at least give me something similar or better.

I WANT TO PLAY GROUND ZEROES ON PC!

plus, my PC is the only thing I have and use for entertainment, writing, and Neogaf. If my GPU goes out I won't be able to use it for like, 3 weeks or more I bet. It will be horrible.

A company being excited for their new game is a huge slap in the face to all the fans that liked their old games.

I can't even begin to imagine what MGO3 is gonna be like, but I want the same level of quirkiness from 2.

OT: Have they demo'd the game yet on PC? I wanna see the FOX Engine running on full blast.

Why is the required CPU spec the same as the recommended?

How is it possible that the 2500K class CPU is required when the engine runs just fine on lower spec'ed console hardware?

God damn, required/recommended specs have been illogical for as far back as I can remember.

specs seem pretty reasonable, but I'm not surprised considering the amazing performance of GZ on the ps4. Can't wait to see this game running at 120 FPS though, the animations are soso good

That's why i never cared about them and wonder till this day, why people do it to a certain extent.

Yeah. Most of the time I find the requirements to be wrong for both minimum and recommended.

In fact just the other day I was mentioning that MG Rising claims to need a minimum of a gts450, yet my massively underpowered laptop gt525m, not only runs the game, but runs it extremely well at a stable 40fps on medium. I'm going to attempt to run ground zeroes on it for kicks.
