There isnt a single game I could name that even deserves to be a runner up to MGS3.

Was EVA given instructions by Volgin to go and do something when she first meets snake or did she meet snake without anyone at Groznyj Grad or anyone working with Volgin knowing?

Do you guys think that they shouldbring back the radar or not.

IMO, Hell no! The game worked so bloody well without a radar and with the other gadgets such as the AP sensor, motion detector etc. I also think that camera angle is superb and that there is no need to change it.

It is currently my GOTY but I just started San Andreas yesterday so that might change.

For those who disagree that MGS3 is the GOTY, my question is:

Half-Life 2 is my GOTY, although MGS3 is my console GOTY. You should give it a whirl. As the first did, Half-Life 2 sets the bar a new height for the FPS genre. Still, while MGS3 is amazing, we shouldn't neglect to give props where they're due. GTA:SA is great, as is Metroid Prime:Echoes, Ratchet and Clank 3, etc. They just fall short of MGS3.

Also, I may catch flak for this, but does MGS3 feel as if it's the first game that truly pushes the technology that this next-generation ushered in? I really feel as if MGS3 is the first game that truly feels "next-generation." It's not just about visuals.

Or I was pointing out that it was an oxymoron that since he was a "fan" he "held the game to a higher standard". And the entire Post was an anectodal response to how stupid of a statement that was - I'm not a fan of the series and didn't like it. And I gave reasons why. Half-Life 2 is a great game, can't say anything about that, except that it's not the same type of game and can't really be compared.

Once again, if you would stop throwing yourself full on into "fanboy defense mode" someone made a critical comment about the game, you might've understood my post for what it was. Instead, you merely assumed it was some troll, without actually realizing that I was deconstructing the idiotic logic that, as a fan you somehow have a "higher standard" of the game you're playing. This is basic common sense - something which you seem to be unable to recognize.

Just for future reference - some more "common sense" for what happens on a message board. When someone quotes something in their response, that's usually what they're responding too. Go back and look at my first post - do you see what I quoted? There, see, you learn something new every day.
