Year the trailer was pretty boring, they really need tone down these crazy stories in MGS, more like MGR and less like MGS2.

True, but Snake never saw Skull Face or interacted with him, why would he suddenly hallucinate someone that existed but who he never actually interacted with?
 
I do think there'll be some kind of dual persona thing with Big Boss. they're literally showing the struggle between his MGS3/PW personality with the big villain he's portrayed in old Metal Gear games, and then back to kinda good again in MGS4 epilogue.

the coma and probably some kind of brain damage too with having a shrapnel stuck on his head is a nice excuse to show this inner battle
 
Solid Snake is not in this trailer. He is not blonde. It's likely just some sort of cinematic thing and we're only seeing Liquid.
 
That was some spine shivers inducing trailer, Elegia song is just sick.

Konami are fucking idiots for letting Kojima go.
 
Yup, the Skull Face, at least in the scene on the deck of Mother Base seems to be a product of the Big Boss's mind. He's having this hallucinations because of the shrapnel pegged in his brain?
 
I'm fond of the theory that Psycho Mantis is Skull Face's child.

Like, I think that could be interesting. Psycho Mantis being directed by Skull Face, forcing appearances in Big Boss' mind and driving him to commit violent acts.
 
I thought the Casette at first was labeled "From The Man Who Saved The World" which made me think "Wait, wouldn't that be Big Boss?"

But I had misread and it says "From The Man Who Sold The World"
I wonder who that is.

There are trailers, and there are Kojima trailers.

Language as a meme is a great premise for the game. I love it.
I obviously am not insane enough to vouch for the entire story ;)

I need Hideo in my life. I don't want to live in a world where Kojima Productions doesn't exist.

I wonder is Sony/MS/Nintendo made him offers? His games are (were?) system sellers after all.

This is actually the first trailer I've seen for it. I purposely avoided everything until now so I didn't spoil anything, but I couldn't resist.

Solid Snake is naturally blonde. He's after all an identical twin of Liquid Snake.

He dyed his hair in the tapes leading up to the mission in Metal Gear Solid.

True. I definitely can't wait to see how it all plays out. Everything we've seen, and played in GZ, has been far beyond what previous games have done. The severity and extremism of events looks really really intense. I can't help but think the final conclusion will be some big admonishment of all this savagery.

I hope we get to experience some amazing and inovative Boss fights in this game, that's part of the charm of the MGS franchise for me, silly Easter eggs and Boss Fights.
Psycho Mantis and The End's fights are still GOAT for me.
 
I have 2 questions:

1). Will there be a Red-Band trailer/extended version available soon? Tora?

2). If any of you fine, fellow Gaffers are actually attending E3; would you mind grabbing an extra copy of everything MGSV:TPP related that Konami has available [if anything] and I will gladly PayPal it from you!!!
 
I think the reason the SONY Walkman gets a close up shot is because Kojima is hinting that him and his crew will be hired by SCE! Kojima Productions will be a Sony first party developer! This must be it!!!!

Skullface at the start, Ocelot a little way in ("Time and again, the country was ruled by a foreign tongue..."), Zero is the English-accented one, and Kiefer comes in for the very last line. The voice saying "Since ancient times..." sounds like an unannounced character (maybe Code Talker?).

It is Big Boss as well. It is the name of a David Bowie song that basically talks about a doppelganger that sold the world.
 
I mean New Order is cool and all, but I don't really think it fit the trailer... Also the voice acting was pretty bad.

Actually the reason is because Operation Snake Eater was declassified after MGS2. He realized that Big Boss was a savior of the world before he became a tyrant, and respected him for that.

He isn't, Snake has never been blonde, the only information we've ever been told in regards to hair color was that Liquid's hair turned blonde from the sun in the desert.

MGS1 has an image that makes it look like his hair is lighter, but it's just lighting, it wasn't blonde in the SNES games, and it wasn't blonde in MGS2 or 4 (Young Camo) or anything else.
