But then again, Hallucinations and reality aren't that far apart in this series.I reckon you may be disappointed.

It's the cylinders on the side of the cockpit https://youtu.be/zu0E9AkAnNE?t=3621 located here at 1:00:00
They also have the red light like the mammal pod at the ends/top of them.
Well since Huey at some point is in the hanger with the metal gear, I assumed that it belongs to Diamond Dogs, not XOF, and that Diamond Dogs was the one doing the burnings. Could be mistaken. But that would mean BB is just travelling with XOF or whoever those guys are.
It's really Big Boss. For the people who think Skull Face is not real, how would you explain this scene?

Real or similar to the way a very recent AAA game handled alternate personas. Not saying that Skullface doesn't exist at all, but some of the scenes they showed hint at him not being real in those specific scenes. Like when BB is hanging upside down after being caught by presumably Eli.For the people who think Skull Face is not real, how would you explain this scene?

Like basically every other voice in the game, it sounds like a dub imho instead of like a natural voice.Skullface is probably going to be omnipresent as Big Boss falls further into insanity. Real and a mental apparition created in his head, with it becoming harder to separate them as the game progressesright up to the final fight with him.... which turns out to be Solid Snake spraying you with a lighter and aerosol can.
I've also decided that, based on Skullface's backstory, his vocal performance delivery is perfect.
I've listened to Elegia pretty much every day since.

Yea I don't think that's what they were going for. The delivery in this game really sticks out in an era where acting in video games is no longer laughably bad the majority of the time due to actors being able to act out their roles via mocap. That's why I think it works for him, due to having no "voice" of his own.
Probably not intentional.

Frankly I don't blame the actors. I've seen Troy Baker in enough modern games to know that he is better than lines like this where it doesn't sound anything like how a person would actually talk.Yeah, it's kind of weird that the whole game is probably, in tech and gameplay terms, up there with the best, but the voice work is just so... meh.
I still think Kiefer Sutherland is decent, but his voice sounds completely weird in the mix compared to everyone else.

Just to give a comparison. See how natural that sounds?

Quite frankly i'm not a fan of Uncharted either but the acting in that series is next level. Whoever they get to direct the cutscenes is great at his job.Sounds fine in both, but I don't care for Uncharted so
He's giving him instructions but that doesn't mean that it sounds very natural, (I mean BB's silence is awkward enough as it is). And yes even though ACU used a form of The Queen's Latin with a lot of French Canadian actors.. The conversations in that game still sounded more natural.I think he sounds like Revolver Ocelot would sound alike. I mean he's giving him instructions and stuff, that explains the sharp tone. It's sound way more natural than AC Unity's english accent, to give a current example.
That was brought up, they do look exactly like the horn, so probably something similar to thisI think those rock protrusions that occur in the trailer are of the same material as Snakes horn. Would explain the growth. Not seen that theory passed round yet so I thought I'd throw it out.

It's going to be fun to see how many of these things were red herrings in the trailer.
Besides advertising MGS2 as if Snake was the main guy the entire time, has he done this for any other of the MGS games? That's what I find most interesting about Yongyea's analysis of the trailer, but he doesn't really touch on. He shows that between different trailers the same scene can have stuff added or removed. I wonder how much these trailers are just creations of Kojima's vs what is actually going to be in game. If he added stuff to these trailers to create narratives that aren't in game or symbolism that doesn't exist in game.

Well, i'd just chock that up to cutscenes still being a WIP since they can be common with game trailers. He usually changes "minor" things when making trailers; character placement, weapons, camera angles, music. Usually to sell tension or action in a certain portion of the trailer. Other than MGS2 I don't know if he has tried selling a different narrative than what's in game, maybe MGS4? Someone with better knowledge of the series will probably chime in and give correct or better explanations.
