Fuckingnow.. I liked the analogue feeling of MGS3, I thought this would be more of the same thing. So that's kinda disappointing to see (also why the heck are all weapons fictionalized?). Looks like a huge amount of content and I'll buy it day one but still. MGS have always been crazy kind of tech wise but if you go too far it becomes implausible, if a game takes place in the future sure, but not the 80s...wormholes
not sure if there are clans in this, probably only in MGO. still, if the guy is on your friend list you can retaliate on his behalf, yes.Is that possible, to target specific players/bases to attack & if you are a member of a crew/GAF clan, they could retaliate on your behalf?
I forget: can we import mp3s in the game ? By that I mean can the game play the music that is on the console's hard drive ?
That would be great and fitting since the song is about war. I'm personally hoping forthis to be in the game as well.I know it's been asked, but can someone please confirm if this song is in the game? This is my ultimate 80's song.

It's a little menu-heavy (can you manage everything iDroid related from the companion app?) but loads to dig into, I'm just going to take everything as it comes, trust the game to explain.
Ehh you gotta devote time towards R&D and other stuff.. So get ready
I don't think you can on PS4/XO, but you can on the other systems.
I've played every single main Metal Gear game (even the MXS ones) so of course I'm not oblivious to this fact, but in previous games the technology was outrageous for their times sure but I always felt they were at least plausible, and well in a sense realistic (Supernatural elements excluded, but those aren't my problem) - some of these things I just feel is too much, I wanted to be immersed in the cold war again, a world that in MGS3 was very well represented despite having some quirky out of place technology and the already mentioned supernatural elements. The MGS universe has giant mechs, cyborg ninjas, ghosts and supernatural soldiers, a, and highly advanced technology like nanomachines and aweather machineteleporting CQC glove
Why is aincongruous?wormhole
I personally like it because I love how MGS deals with real themes but it doesn't shy away from the fact that it is a video game and some of the mechanics don't really need to make sense lol
Well im prepared, i just hope we are not forced to do stuff that kills the pace of the game. All that building..seesh and no lego in sight!
Yo so how spoilery is this?
Really ? How weird. Can't the PS4 and XO play these files ?

You can't locally store any media on the PS4 apart from the stuff you capture using the Share button. I don't have an XO, but I think it's the same situation.

Absolutely amazing. I think the FOB is enough to make this a great game, even if Kojima doesn't knock the story out of the park.
I'm not so sure the wait times you see in the trailer are set ups for microtransactions as much as they are there to keep things from being too easy. It looks like if the time limits weren't there you could breeze through everything.
Well, like I stated above, when it comes to the supernatural parts of the MGS series sure, but the technology always felt at least kind of plausible. Excluding humanoid bosses, what was the most outrageous piece of technology in MGS3? A tank with screws... And that simply felt like a 1960s Metal Gear, many of the things in MGS5 just feels out of place for a game taking place in the 80s. I don't know, It's weird for me.

To develop further, for me these things just feel like they were put in for convenience - Kojima just wanted them - with out regard for world building or fitting a narrative. This game has tech that would feel out of place in any Metal Gear. MGS5s 1980s look more advanced than any of the other MGSs, Why? It feels like a case of "Wouldn't this be cool" so Kojima just put it in.
I'm glad the game uses fictionalized weapons as otherwise they would have had to pay arms manufacturers money for licenses, and fuck that.
It doesn't really matter honestly, why risk the integrity of a world you've built for decades? If it's anything like PW, stuff like the Jehuty arm, and the space-time wormhole fulton will be super late end-game unlockables. I sincerely doubt you'll get that kind of stuff through the course of the story.
Even that was based on a real thing
I completely agree that the MGS series used to take its tech at least somewhat seriously, and it's a bit disappointing to see that absolutely thrown out the window (although Peace Walker definitely started it).
Interesting, not sure if this was known but apparently the review event is only 4 days long (something like Watch Dogs had 8 days for comparison). Reviewers can't keep their saves, seems a feeling of not being able to see most of what the game has to offer is concerning, at least from someone I talk to. Using the 2-day May preview event as a frame of reference, some journos didn't get past 10% completion lol.
Review event is from the 18th to 21st.
Overwhelming. That's all I can say.
Holy shit this is fucking amazing.
BRUHHHH THEY GOT FUCKING JOY DIVISION IN THE GAME...WHAAAAT
It doesn't really matter honestly, why risk the integrity of a world you've built for decades?
Yikes. Reviews are going to be so interesting for a game like this. You can see in this very thread how much personal preference influences what people want from the game. I feel there will be lots of reviews focusing on what they didn't want included as opposed to reviewing what is in the game. It will be interesting either way.
For a new concept called fun.
Any word on Gamersyde? Plz blimblim
What is a FOB?
Yeah I totally agree. I mean, they haven't done crazy shit for the sake of fun and entertainment before or anything...It doesn't really matter honestly, why risk the integrity of a world you've built for decades?
