What would playing this at 4k on a 4k monitor bring to the table? Would the extra detail seriously be discernible. I don't get how it works. Is Kojima implementing 4k textures?
3D assets rendered at higher resolutions will always look better.

Point out as in with arrows? Because I don't see anything major like PC guys are pretending there is. The puddle reflection jumps out at you and the lighting looks a bit brighter, but that's it. I'm just being real.
Guys, I know many of you are talking about the people shrugging the difference as being nothing noticeable. But consider this too, is the different big enough to warrant a replay?
Honestly, if a difference remotely this huge in geometry and foliage LOD distance would occur between the PS4 and XB1 version of any game, people would call it "LODgate" and the thread would reach 200 pages in an hour.
You missed the sarcasm.
Considering the Main Mission is the only link to TPP, I am sure you will be fine going into TPP. Unless you want to do the side-missions which are situated in basically the same location. Not sure yet. I own and have played the PS4 version but only the main mission. I could sell it and put that money into the Steam version or play the rest on PS4 and buy something else. While the visual differences are very, very noticeable thanks to 60fps the gameplay shouldn't be any different. Then again I'll get it on Steam anyway sooner or later during a sale. Wish we already knew price, above 15 would be too much in my case.
That's certainly true for some PC owners here but I've got a gaming PC and enough money to buy hundreds of others, so for me it's not the problem.
It's just there must be a reason to upgrade other than one more pixel or another light source... Especially when the game already looks and plays fine on consoles. It's harder and harder to find those reasons. For the most part, games look more on more the same on every platform, as it should with more power and diminishing returns. On a psychological side, this kind of PC bragging threads always look like people trying to justify their buy (because unconsciously they know a light on a puddle hardly justifies such spending).
Even mobile games will one day look the same actually...
120 fps
Look at your post history before talk my friend. And relax if you don't like the other joke, not need to be upset. No, I did not. That doesn't make your post any less shit for associating an entire userbase to a sentence I'm pretty sure no one, not even the most deluded fanboy in this forum, ever said., unlike, say, GRASS! and Eight Gigabytes of Gee Dee Dee Arr Five

You don't see the grass, bushes, cacti, lights and other objects absent in the PS4 version? Graphically it's not a big difference, but the LOD difference is huge.
I was joking.Pretty sure it's locked at 60.
Or maybe, maybe eh, it's full expected a pc can put in the shame the ps4 hardware that's why 200 page not magically appears.

I before Krisprolls and ShinUltraman start with their console warrio bullsh.... oh, nevermind.
I reckon that most people buying stuff on PC aren't looking at games as an "upgrade" of something they have already played. They're looking at the product and whether it offers the best value proposition out of what they have available to play. I'm getting this on PC because I don't have a PS4 yet and the PS3 version was too janky to bother with. Since the PC version is the last to release for Ground Zeroes, it's very encouraging to see that they're putting extra effort to making sure it is not just a minimum-parity port, but one which actually takes advantage of what modern PC hardware has to offer.
For those who already own this on PS4 and have played it, it probably doesn't matter as much. It will matter more when it comes to deciding which platform to get Phantom Pain on though, if they launch at the same time. Either way, there's nothing to downplay here. Most people are not looking at stuff to "justify" a purchase, they're looking at a promising product which is coming out, with effort put into it.
That's fine. Opinions and all that but I disagree.Until games have eye-tracking, I don't want them implementing DoF in anything but cutscenes. ..and maybe the occasional effect like Alien Isolation's motion tracker where it's directly related to gameplay.
You and some other PC pixel counters certainly look very defensive in this thread for people who are sure they spent their money well.
By the way, I think calling people "console warriors" is bannable, be careful my friend.

Pc version won't look like that for me on a 570. Going to go ps4 for sure.

The fact that this image was a legitimately necessary response to the people who were apparently unable to see any meaningful difference between the two is hilarious to me.
I think a PS4 version of a game is generally expected to be better as well, though. There must be some other reason. No one said they shouldn't be included in a comparison, only that the outcome is not unexpected since the gap in hardware potential is so great. The poster I was replying to wondered why the length of the thread wouldn't be longer than it is likely to be; the answer is that the outcome is very much expected. Perhaps you misread.
What you say is true only for people owning multiple platforms. You could make a poll here and I suspect you have mostly "PC only" owners.
When all you own is one platform (here mostly PC) you don't decide which platform you get your game on in those threads, especially when half of the posts read "it's so much better than on console". I said that was inconscious anyway, so of course people won't say it.
I believe they are referring to LOCKED 60fps as a feature. But I could be mistaken.
Huge difference. This is why I love Kojima and his team. They're taking advantage of the power they're given.

It's really not that noticeable during gameplay. I mean, you can notice LOD pop-in, but the game doesn't feel dead. The locked 60 fps was a good choice.PS4 version of that scene looks so dead next to PC. Makes you wonder if they should have gone with 30fps on console instead.

I did. Unless you're a complete pixel nerd
You and some other PC pixel counters certainly look very defensive
You must be another astroturfing casual console fanboy warrior paid by Sony if you say that.

Have you played it? It definitely looks much better on PC there, no doubt, but while playing it looks great already. Seriously. How does it not look dead? It looks sterile, with no detail, guards are missing, lights that are obviously there do not actually cast a light source.
The PS4 screen looks like an abstraction of a military base. The PC shot looks like a real military base.
Nice, but not enough to get me to build another $1500 GAF-PC.
