I'm new to the franchise are people known to havesuper powers? How did they get them? Is there a backstory I should know before playing?
I got a GameStop code in my inbox. What was their pre-order stuff? I didn't even know they had anything.

You've become Punished Dawg for having the game longer than us.I have no idea how any of you are able to download GZ saves. I must have tried connecting over a hundred times now.
Alright, so I wasn't that keen on the opening, outside of the very beginning bit.
It's your standard scripted opening sequence almost every AAA game in the past 5 or 6 years has had. Easily my least favorite MGS opening sequence. Tanker, Virtuous Mission, Shadow Moses, even MGS4 are all better, because they aren't forcing you to move at a snail-like pace.
Now, when you get to Afghanistan... That's some good stuff. This is what I'm playing the game for.
I got the exact same thing on an extract a soldier mission.I seem to have a side mission bug where it has the tick for the mission but then allows me to do it again?
Wut.
1)Quiet is actually told to you randomly by Ocelot in a mission, after you finish the mission you should unlock a tape about Quiet as well as side op 06. Once you unlock it, just go and do side op 06.
2)It will take time much like anything else in life. Just keep on doing your main missions/side op while visiting the MB every now and then, you'll trigger a random cutscene and you'll see him fully grown.
3)I'm no awesome. Never was, never will be. I'm just an old helper, hired to answer my fellow gamers.

My god playing this game gets me nauseated.
I've got half of them done and they are so Ubisoft-ian in their design.
Turns out that the Side Ops in Ground Zeroes are actually what most of the Main Missions are in The Phantom Pain, and the Side Ops in The Phantom Pain are missions that feel like they could have been randomly generated.
To be fair, the Tanker/Virtuous Mission in this game is Ground Zeroes, they just cut it out for those sweet dollar bills. The hospital intro, in my mind, takes the place of the loooooong cutscenes/codec sequences at the start of the Big Shell/Operation Snake Eater.
its true
but im still at the point where im enjoying the game's mechanics for what they are and messing with the systems so so far its fun
also tranqing a bear was intense
Putting credits before every mission, that say "guest starring" and effectively spoil who is actually in the mission is the dumbest idea ever, holy shit.

It was at first, then I adopted the Far Cry trick of standing on a rock. Hopefully the bears will learn from this experience and arm themselves with guns in the future using the AI potential of the Fox Engine.

Similar, the opening credits at the start of the game listed a few voice actors that I would have preferred being left as surprises. Not sure what they were thinking with that stuff.
So I've stumbled apon a certain boss fight:I'm facing Quiet in the ruins. I want to recruit her into DD. Am I free to go all out or should I try to tranq her?

Regarding Quiet / Mission 11.
So...after you beat her there is the opportunity to kill her or take her in...question is if you do kill her, she just kinda melts/vanishes...does this prevent her from joining you for good?
Early on full teams are better than nothing.Should I just Fulton everyone or only the ones with decent stats?
12 hours and only 4% completion...
I guess I won't need to play anything else for some time lol
Around the 50 hour mark at story and in need of more help. Spoiler tagged, obviously.
So Eli has just stolen Metal Gear from Mother Base and the game doesn't offer me any more missions to do that progress the story or even side ops to progress the story AFAIK, just main missions from earlier in the game on a higher, more extreme difficulty. What do I do to push the story onwards? Cheers!
D-Dog[did you do the Side OP for the Russian interpreter? That's where I got him, he's right near the start/drop zone.
