So umm... Does it show the credits, Kojima prod. and Konami logo after every single mission? Seems kinda silly.
Completed the MB tutorial: "Made by Hideo Kojima and Konami" Oh really...

You reminded me of when Snake used to be American-Japanese. Of course it was retconned at some point.

Actually, the person who donated the egg was Japanese. But SS had a surrogate mother, who used that egg and big bosses dna, as explained in MGS4.(MGS4 spoilers, please no banerino). So technically, he's partial Japanese still.

For those who haven't played Ground Zeroes, they cover the events of the game in the first cassette tape set "Ocelot's Briefing".

holy fucking shit.... one of the best openings to a game ever... lol man my ocd will ruin me with this game i took 3 hours on the first main mission going in every building... not sure i like when enemies change from night to day time.... also really sucks even though i was hiding almost ever enemy after i traqed them they woke up too quick... i love the UI...
also lol at all the credits all the time.. i bet kojima put that in after the konami bullshit went down...
also holy shit at those
zombie enemies....
:O.......

also what was the point in the
character creator at the beginning... i just went right back to looking like boss right after...

the game requires patience and not being sleepy so will play as soon as i get up tomorrow.....

servers still toast cant do my GZs save yet :/

His full name is Benedict Kazuhira "Kaz" Miller. He is an american japanese dude

I thought it was McDonnell Miller ...

In MGS he was McDonnell Miller, Master Miller. Then in Peace Walker he was named Kazuhira Miller which he mentions to Paz his name, he was called it for peace, his parents wanted peace and all that jazz and it allowed him to relate to Paz and it was all in the opening for PW and it was all special and sweet that they had the same name and Snake we gotta help out the little girl who has my name pleeeeeeeeeease (you know, outside of the real reasons Kaz wanted Snake to take the job).

Now his real first name is Benedict. Why constantly change his name? His real name is Bob isn't it? He's just ashamed and changes his name very so often to be cool.

So yeah, anyway, I really liked the opening. It was slow but built tension and made sense, you just woke from a nine year coma. The first mission was cool but I felt like I had a timer due to what Ocelot said and didn't want to spend my time looking around and stuff. With the (end part of the mission spoiler)
Skulls, can you avoid them? I tried to go around the mountain bit by the first LZ but it wouldn't let me and when I tried to pass them on the right hand side (looking toward them) I got spotted immediately. I can't see another way out, unless you can kill/tranq them. I didn't try because I didn't think it'd work.

honestly the opening is too long

it's cool and all but giving you this limited movement for such a long time knowing the mechanics and controls are great and that you already played Ground Zeroes most likely..

just went on and on

it was cool, but as soon as Afghanistan started then it just looked hella lame

I'm just going to tag it now that the game is out. I'll be as cryptic as possible.

There are multiple security doors on the main platforms in MB. Early on, most are locked...

I think I need you to elaborate. Only thing of note I've been able to find is
the cardboard box emblem
.

Seems like it. I can kinda see why Konami would take his name off the box, it's said enough times during the game. I get he wanted it more episodic but it's a bit much having every mission have intro and outro credits.

As insane as this is going to sound, I've somehow played games since the Megadrive days without ever playing any of the MGS games. Could someone tell me what Phantom Pain plays like? I'm thinking of getting it after work

Through the whole opening I was just like "Jesus, is it fucking done yet?" Which is kind of funny coming from me, the one who likes all the crazy cutscenes in all the other Metal Gears, including 4. I was just thinking "this must be what it's like to be one of those that doesn't normally get as into Metal Gear scenes as me..."

It's just way too long for what it is and what control you get. Either give more control or speed that shit up.

The crazy unscripted moments in TPP are better than most games' set pieces. Incredible stuff so far. Had to throw Miller through a god damn window to make our escape.

Regarding PC controls. Does anyone know how to crouch walk faster? So far press Ctrl slows you down to a crawl. I know a keyboard has problem representing analog movements but there has got to be a way to alternate way to toggle between different speed without an analog stick.

doesnt help that its exactly the same thing we saw on the reveal trailer

whole thing is just badly thought out. I actually thought it would do some twist and go in a different way the trailer did just to keep it interesting.. at least..

There are doors with red lights above them that play the old school locked double buzz from previous games. One door in particular has a blue light. You may not have that platform built yet (it's one of the earlier major platforms)

If you want to know specifically which platform

Medical Platform

Why all the hate for the prologue?! I'd say that's one of the best openings to any game, ever. Fucking LOVED it, as did my friend.

It's 3am... time for bed.

I am confused. The servers are saying down on PC, does that mean I can't import my ground zeroes save until the servers are up?

sadly yes played 4 hours and the servers are just boned.... will get on one day (tomorrow) maybe and upload my save and then never use online mode again...sucks it makes the loading longer... will one day try fob but not to interested....

Ah don't have it built yet! Thanks!

ffs shit froze when it was installing after the prologue. Happened in GZ multiple times too. I hope my ps4 isn't carking it already.

The intro was amazing, any metal gear fanatic worth their salt should just be eating it up.
Rescued Kaz (in a very sloppy fashion) and did the fulton tutorial.
Time for bed, make coffee in the morning and dig into this. Its everything I thought it would be. I love it, thank you Kojima!

guys i need some help on staff management in mother base.

I can't figure out how to check which are the troublemaker guys. I keep having fights in the base. I know i should put two of the guys in the same unit so they cancel themselves out but i just can't see who they are.

And whats the first column of the table about?
i thought that was the column about the special skill a member has (so maybe the "2 swors" icon is the troublemaker?)

there is no legend to the table so i cant figure what some of the icons mean

thanks in advance.

Press triangle on each staff member to get a screen where you can see what each character's special skill is (including troublemaker). The first column represents whether they have a skill so you only need to check those.
