Doesn't that get rid of DOF too, though?
The engine is brilliant on PC, performance is flawless and there's no graphical bugs.So I take it this is a good port?

It looks the same for me when using binoculars. Surely this can't be intentional?
I'm getting pretty long loading times even on a SSD... Especially when using the mother base menu ... It takes a loooong time sometimes to bring up the R&D menu.
As i said try to play in offline mode and see if it gets better.I'm getting pretty long loading times even on a SSD... Especially when using the mother base menu ... It takes a loooong time sometimes to bring up the R&D menu.

\_(ツ_/¯ and nothing of value was lost.

There's a few missing settings (why no individual bloom, dof, fxaa settings, instead they're all under post process setting) but otherwise it's great.
The UI doesn't shrink when you downsample so +1 for that
There's no mouse controls in the UI (keyboard only) so -1 for the lazyness there
Gameplay controls work well with k/m so +1 again.
10/10 for the engine guys
5/10 for the UI guys

You filthy people and your hating on glorious DOF.
I usually hate DoF, but Kojima makes use of it for artistic reasons during cutscenes.
Some of them look absolute ass without the effect
Any way to hack in / isolate the FXAA?
Setting post processing to high makes some night time bases with lots of lights run sub 60, I'm pretty sure the AA isn't causing that, but it's embedded in the post process settings along with some more expensive stuff that I'd be happy to lose.
That's a shame, well thanks for the quick answerWith Ground Zeroes you could modify what effects each preset turns on and since the TPP settings file only has exactly what is in the game menus, you'll have to wait for mod tools to be able to do that. I plan to modify FXAA out and replace it with ReShade SMAA.
Does anyone else have as much trouble sticking to cover as I am? I find a flat surface and ram Snake's head into it and he just won't stick, and yet when I try to run around corners he'll stick to every wall I come across.

It's slightly better than in GZ, but it's still shit. Cover systems that rely on you pushing up against the wall instead of pressing a button fucking suck.

Just seeing if anyone has successfully been able to juggle two save files for this game... My friend is 3 hours in on my computer, and because it loads from the cloud and refuses to load if you disable cloud saving, it doesn't seem like I can put his save somewhere else on my computer.
I like how the most recent Splinter Cells and Watch Dogs did it, personally. Some people don't like it, but Tomb Raider and The Last of Us have the best cover systems to date, imo. MGSV doesn't do buttonless cover well, so it should just use a button.
What if he (or you) logs in with a different Steam account?

This port is amazing.
Have everything maxed out and running in 2715x1527 downsampled via the Nvidia tool to 1920x1080 and it still holds an extremely steady frame rate. I've still played through just the prologue and first mission, though.
The downsampling in particular does wonders for the aliasing in the game, which was quite bad when I first booted it up.
Loving the game, too. This is going to be a fun journey.
How would this work? He doesn't own the game, he's just playing it on my account because I'm one the one with a gaming PC.
Pretty sure local accounts can play any games that are currently installed. Or try Family Sharing if that doesn't work.
Interesting. He does have his own Steam account, does he just need to login to that on my PC?
I would also have him log into his own Windows Account as well since most games store saved games and other files in with your user folders.
