Yes, I can understand the issues with NPCs and pacing, but the narrative went sour on this game when the talking scientist videos started to circulate.I was thinking it would land in the 85-89 range. Still excited to play on Thursday.
The hive mind of gamers/"gaming press" has been interesting to watch the last 10+ years or so with the rise of social media. You see how quickly narratives take over on a regular basis. I'm more personally invested in if the actual map design is true to Metroid and whether the bike stuff works well, but everything got hijacked by chatty sidekicks and how that's not Metroid, yet everyone told me how amazing of an achievement the last two God of War titles were despite having an annoying kid talking to me the entire game.
You can play through it and sell it for 80% of the market price though, these Nintendo games sell easy and at high prices.![]()
Never pre order
dude, this is a prime gameThis threads reminds me of this

See you in another 18 years for Metroid Prime 5. Nintendo can keep this one.
I can spot the same pathetic "Nintendo review bonus" comment multiple times. This thread is full of drama queens. It's getting 10s and 9s. It's not "The worst game ever" like some are acting.
Taking modern review scores into account at all is fucking stupidAn 80 basically means mediocre now. And when you subtract Nintendo's usual 7 point bonus, it's not looking good. Dread's demo and original prime were boring so it's definitely not for me.
Yeah...there is a certain amount of drama. This is GAF after all. But you have to admit that when it comes to Nintendo's heavy hitters, people expect damn near perfection based on their past history. With that being said, the game is still reviewing decently. This thread is full of drama queens. It's getting 10s and 9s. It's not "The worst game ever" like some are acting.
If Colin Moriaty said that there would be riots throughout the gaming industry.Well, we know which one is the ladies room.
All the pretenders would have first world privilege anxieties. If Colin Moriaty said that there would be riots throughout the gaming industry.
I guess you're not aware that this thread's purpose is exactly that.Taking modern review scores into account at all is fucking stupid
I sadly feel the same way will i still buy it yesi m not saying it wont, i ll be playing anyway to find out for myself, i m just saying that there is already enough reviews for people to start drawing a picture if the game is for them or not.
I just watched the DF review and at the end he commented on this, it isn't as intrusive as some suggest.I fucking told you people. No way were they going to rein it in. Not after showcasing it in the trailer.

I'll take "What is a Review Thread?" for $500, Alex!I guess you're not aware that this thread's purpose is exactly that.
Not reallyWtf, this game has companions?
Taking modern review scores into account at all is fucking stupid
Did the definition of mixed change? Most of the reviews are positive, it was 79 about what, an hour ago? So the score is going up, meaning more positive reviews are coming in than negative or actually mixed reviews.dude, this is a prime game
Prime 1 - 97 MC
Prime 2 - 92 MC
Prime 3 - 90 MC
Prime 4 - 81 MC ( atm )
ppl had HIGH expectation for this one, its scoring almost as low as Other M that is considered one of the "worst" Metroid games out there, also 20% of the reviews are "mixed reviews" its not like ppl are focusing at the only mixed review at MC.
"Meltdown"And yet here you are in the thread.
Genuinely incredible to see people have meltdowns over the concept of opinions in 2025.
If you don't care about reviews, fine. Literally nobody gives a shit what you do with your money.
Nobody is telling you what to think, either. They're telling you what *they* think. Fuck me, why does this need explaining again and again and again?
I know we're in the minority, but I agree. The idea of it being more accessible, borrowing elements from Zelda, and having interactive NPC's will understandably rub a lot of Metroid purists the wrong way. For me? It's exactly what I'm looking for.I like the chatty Metroids (Fusion, Prime 3, Other M) so I'm OK with this. Samus doesn't need to be alone 100% of the time or stoic 100% of the time. She doesn't need to be a silent protagonist either (even Super let her monologue at the beginning).
It sounds like a simple patch letting you turn off the companions and waypoints would fix most problems people have with the game. But I guess that goes against the hive mind that says this game is unsalvagable trash![]()
Any chance they do remakes of 2 and 3?
thank you...The hive mind of gamers/"gaming press" has been interesting to watch the last 10+ years or so with the rise of social media. You see how quickly narratives take over on a regular basis. So never? When was the last time a Nintendo first party game got that low lmao.Always looked pretty unremarkable from the trailers but i'm still gonna get it when it's 20 euros.
