Cross gen whatever, this looks better than any current gen game art wise. Hell yeah. Its even crazy it runs on switch 1

Not disappointed at all, the game runs at 4K/60 FPS with better textures, draw distance, lighting & effects. How much better looking do you think it would be as a Switch 2 exclusive and still run at 4K/60?

I dont give a fuck, I have waited 18 years for this game and it probably will be better than 90% of whats been churned out this gen.

Being a Switch 1 game made it very attainable to include a 120FPS mode, which aligns with its first person view and Switch 2's mouse controls.

This is a fine outcome.

Started out as Switch 1 games.
Developer interviews even contain screenshots of the game as it was developed for Switch 1 in both cases.
They both look the same as they do on the retail release for Switch 2.
Everything that comes out on any system in the first year or two etc technically started on the system before. It means jack.

These days it is true of more games than ever because development times are longer than ever.

They promised it to Switch 1 owners. No way around it. Lets hope the next Monolith Soft title isn't crossgen.
Think your safe there. By the time the next Monolith game comes around 1-2 years will probably pass. Just read Monolith are really hoping to defy expectations (in a good way) with the next RPG. I doubt Nintendo will hold them back in any way if that means they need more horsepower.

There will be very, very few crossgen games announced by Nintendo at this point. In fact, I'd be surprised if there's any. Rhythm Heaven and Tomodachi Life are both smaller niche titles that seem like the last breadcrumbs for it. Any further crossgen games will be ones of that calibre. Even games like Pokemon Pokopia and the new Yoshi, that visually looks like they could definitely work on Switch 1 and aren't huge heavy hitters, are announced as Switch 2 exclusive.

You're absolutely right - if I can get a point one percent better product by other people losing out, I want that to happen.
