MGSV for PC officially confirmed

If Steam itself just acts as a store where you download it and installing it is completely separate, then yes. I highly doubt that though.

It can. There are many games that you can buy on Steam and even delete steam entirely and have it still work. DRM is optional on Steam.

Now I just need Destiny, all the Warriors games, Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3 on PC and I can delay getting a PS4 until the very end of the generation

Right now this doesn't change much for me. I will still probably pick it up on PS4 first. And besides resolution I don't think PC version will look any different (at least out of the box), but replaying it a few years down the road in 4K will be pretty awesome.

At this rate some of that is in the possible camp.

Thats about 2 to 3 years out. And 4k will be like 1080p 60FPS was later this gen when PC SMACKED most console around in their version plus not that much more in pricing considering the lead GPU tech has this time around.

The Destiny sequel will be, I guarantee it. The Warriors games depend on how Dynasty Warriors 8 did for Koei Tecmo on Steam, but I think it did well so I'm optimistic. I'm also optimistic about FF and Kingdom Hearts given Square's bloated budgets and the need to offset those, plus they haven't outright denied it yet.

Knew it was just a matter of time, though I expected they'd port them after The Phantom Pain release. Anyways, awesome news... my GPU died today, at least this cheered me up a little!

It's too bad that MGS4 is probably a nightmare to port. Would be nice to see that at ridiculous IQ.

I'd love to see MGS4 whenever the inevitable Metal Gear Solid Collection for PS4 and Xbox One comes out. Huge MGS fan, but was a 360 owner all of last gen and never got to play 4.

I swear to god Kojima the resolution better not be locked to 1080p and lower.

It's not like there is even a way to really lock the resolution of a PC game.

You didn't really lose much, I also started last gen as a 360 owner, but got a PS3 later on, played the game, it had it's great moments, but also a lot boring chunks, it's not better than MGS3 or 2 IMO.

It's how it works, there is no "if". We know that because there are Steam games that are DRM-Free, where you don't need the client running to run the game.

Wow at this rate i can't wait for Metal Gear Rising 2 for PC !!!
Platinum actually did really well for a Japanese developer that had no prior PC porting experience, but yeah, the resolution/frame rate cap and weird ass 1080p fullscreen bug are things I'd like to see them avoid next time.

I bought a PS4 last month to be there with my friends for Destiny in September, and I picked up Ground Zeroes at the same time. Quite enjoyed myself, and I'll probably stick with the console version for TPP (my PC isn't keeping up with the latest games so hot anymore, and I'm not sure when my next upgrade will take place). But it's awesome news that this game will be available to a wider audience!

hopefully kojipro have poured over the details of reaction to rising in order to learn what would be best for the mgsv port. i.e, not capping resolution and framerate.

really hoping they have the e3 2013 vegetation implemented... but i doubt it.

Metal Gear Rising is locked to 1080p. There's a workaround on the forums but every update it breaks and has to be updated again.

So yea.

I havent tested it but doesnt NeoGAF member Durantes' GeDoSaTo pretty much say fuck you to almost all games that have locked resolutions?

Anyway, On Topic
SQWEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
Knowing this, i can wait for the PC release as long as its not a year long wait.
