Larry Hryb comes across as very passionate about the 360 days, following Mattrick's "vision" must've taken a serious toll.
Did he get demoted to Lieutenant?
I can imagine what it was like for people that understood games / gaming and knowing they were about to give a presentation on Kinect and TV TV TV, ideas that came from suit guys that started meddling with the gaming business that it was a terrible idea. When those two visions clashed i can imagine how people like Major Nelson reacted back then.
It's like a train crash you know it's gonna happen and there's nothing you can do to stop it.
When you think about it, the effects from those months back in 2013 are still felt to this day.

Watching Phil sacrificing game sales for Gamepass...and then not even that working out in the end is for sure much worse. The thing is, what Don did was instant...Phil is like a slow cancer eating away an entire business.Don mattrick was a disaster, but phil spencer is the worst gaming ceo of all time. He turned a brand run by a trillion dollar cooperation into a third party publisher who's goal is to make pc's instead of consoles.
They repeated 'TV' so much it really felt like this scene from...some movie:Don Mattrick's speech was an extinction level event for Xbox.
The Joo Janta 200 Super-Chromatic Peril Sensitive Sunglasses have been designed to help people develop a relaxed attitude to danger. They follow the principle "what you don't know can't hurt you" and turn completely dark and opaque at the first sign of danger. This prevents you from seeing anything that might alarm you. This does, however, mean that you see absolutely nothing, including where you're going.
just wrap your head in a towel and hope for the best.
Yeah this makes a whole lot more sense now. Legendary gif. Poor Major died for Don's sins.
His emotional state suffered the first RROD
yep. he knew...Being forced to experience the Xbox One reveal as an employee is an extremely legitimate situation for a panic attack
But it was just a continuation of what Xbox was doing already for years with the 360. 2013 was horrible for the 360 and it had been going downhill since 2010.Being forced to experience the Xbox One reveal as an employee is an extremely legitimate situation for a panic attack
Don Mattrick's speech was an extinction level event for Xbox.
This was the final nail in the coffin
I used to think this guy was a bit of a dork, but he's actually pretty cool.
Truth and now Phil hides like a coward behind Sarah Bond who is as clueless as a brick. They should have been sacked long ago and maybe the brand could have turned around with the right people in charge. To late for that now it seems.Don mattrick was a disaster, but phil spencer is the worst gaming ceo of all time. He turned a brand run by a trillion dollar cooperation into a third party publisher who's goal is to make pc's instead of consoles.
